We're using Kyle Rayner for this poll. Even though it's obvious that Hal Jordan had the greatest will of all GLs, it's been proven again and again that Kyle is by far the most powerful Lantern of all time. Now on to Kyle's condition:

Condition: Green Lantern - Kyle holds his power ring, which, combined with his vivid imagination, is the most powerful weapon in the universe. The ring has a full charge, tapped from the Power Battery itself. No weakness to yellow. The ring can not be removed from Kyle forcibly, due to the conditions he set up in the Ion saga.

Superman - Clark is under no outside influence, nor is he being affected by green kryptonite or kryptonite of any other color. He is in view of yellow sunlight, but has not been 'supercharged' or any other such nonsense that lazy writers have come up with in the past.

Place: The Antarctic. There are no lifeforms to worry about, with GL's shielding there is no way either would be affected by the cold, and neither man would have to worry about stray shots.

Setting: Kyle has been set up by a combination of The Black Circle remnants and Fatality, and framed for the destruction of a large part of Metropolis, an attack in which Lois Lane was seriously injured. Kyle can not turn himself in to the JLA because the rest of the team has been distracted by a Black Circle attack disguised as an outerspace attack. Being that Metropolis is the city attacked, Superman decides to take care of Kyle himself. Enraged at the thought of Lois on the brink of death, Clark tracks Kyle down on the frozen continent and attacks without warning. With no choice but to defend himself, Kyle must fight back.

Result: The two fight until one is unable to stand and is knocked unconcious.

Even though Superman is pissed off about his wife, and thus might let loose a little, Kyle wins this hands down. Frankly, all he has to do is trap Superman in a bubble until his air runs out, or create an endless army to exhaust him. And, even if this came down to a fist fight, Kyle still wins because he can create shields and/or giant fists to defend himself.

Myself, I voted for GL. After all, Kyle can make anything. I think it's about time DC wised up and realized that there should be another big gun in the company. And stop handing the book to pieces of shit writers and artists!

I agree 100%. Wonder Woman and Green Lantern (Kyle or not) need to be portrayed as being just as (if not more) powerful as The Big S. Hell! Batman, a human with no powers or special weapons, is written to be more powerful than Green Lantern and sometimes even Wonder Woman.

Because Batman's a better character. :D

Man, I read a couple of comics recently, and I had noticed just how cool Kyle Rayner is as GL. I mean, he's an anime nut. He's pretty damn powerful. I'm going with him.... He could probably put up a several thousand ton weight on Superman just for the hell of it. I cracked up when he used a big weight that just said 16 tons on a couple of bad guys.

My vote goes for GL.

The thing is, his creative team right now sucks so much ass. The art is pitiful and that artists should be barred from the industry. Use some fucking color! If you want to know how cool Kyle is, go for back issues.

  • 2 months later...

I've been doing some reading, and Hal Jordan is one awesome fucking character. Kyle may be more powerful, but Jordan's a lot more interesting.

Does Jordan at one point have a whole bunch of Lantern rings? Does this make him stronger?
