Guest
I just started listening, but that's officially both the best and worst theme song ever.
Dread
I'll take that as the highest of compliments... ...and the lowest
Guest
With Anita Blake, yeah, the novels are pretty much pornographic at this point. The series began very promising as an action story, but now, the books quite literally contain nothing but Anita having vampire gangbangs, which was a staggering character change from the initial stories. I'm actually amazed they can make a comic out of it. People gave Laurel K Hamilton a lot of shit when she fucked up the series, and she clearly doesn't care. I agree with Des on Moon Knight. He's a character practically made for the trade. As someone that buys trades pretty much exclusively, he's become a favorite of mine. But I still say that issue stands on its own. It's written in an arc like we're all so used to but it is enough on its own. Anita Blake? not so much
Guest
I agree with you on the "Buy" grade, but I agree with Mike in saying that it's mainly written for the trade. I should have been more specific.
Missy
I'll give Moon Knight another shot, this time in trade format. But that's it. If it doesn't work for me as trades, I'm done. I want to love this series, but it isn't doing it for me.
Guest
I'd say pick up The Bottom. I thought it was a very strong outing, despite some art snafus from Finch.
Malpractice
Just get the first 2 volumes of Essential Moon Knight, and you should be good. No one else has ever got the character except for Doug Moench and Bill Sienkiewicz.
Guest
Oh yeah, and Mike, if you don't like the trades, feel free to send them my way.
Missy
Malpractice: Every time I see the second volume of Essential Moon Knight I'm so tempted to get it, but cash and space is limited. DW: Only if you review the remainder of the opening storyline in Cable.
Guest
... I choose death.
Missy
Hmm. Wow. Death wasn't even an option, but... okay.
Dan
Hmm. Wow. Death wasn't even an option, but... okay. Don't ever let it be said that you weren't accomodating.
Guest
When it comes to having to read more Cable, death is the ONLY option.
George W.
When it comes to having to read more Cable, death is the ONLY option. He was tolerable with Deadpool, but only because he really became an asshole of epic proportions. Speaking of Cable, Greymalkin. Yes, it was the lane the X-Mansion resided on, but Cable took the name and gave it to his spaceship/A.I./surrogate father/blatant Alfred rip-off.
