Guest
I could have sworn I made this thread already, but couldn't find it. Working on a few horror stories and I'm not sure which direction to take it.
Missy
For me, it's things that could really happen. That's why Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer, American Psycho, Open Water, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Psycho get under my skin. Dread
Feeling like I'm not in control. Films like The Vanishing, Marathon Man, Irrversible and Halloween lull me into false safety and then prove to me that I havce zero control over what is happening. SuaveStar
It's the reality of a situation, I mean everyone knows all about the shit that happens in slasher movies, but it's films like American Psycho, and to a lesser extent, a MUCH lesser extent Scream. Films that are trying to take place in the real world and not have some "Supernatural" nutjob who is causing havoc for the 99th time. Saying that when I was younger I was scared by the original Nightmare On Elm Street, because it's when your asleep that you're at your weakest, and everyone has to dream.
