After that, Ian Wilson drops by to talk about the comic book movies of 2008, as well as what's coming up in 2009. Guest DCAUFan1051
OK I don't get out to my local comics shop tooo much and yes I know mike wil direct me towards instocktrades and DCBS but I was wondering do the people that put the previews catalog together have a website with it on there? Also when Ian was discussing Punisher War Zone it just made me not want to see it even more. Not by what he said or how he said it just that he confirmed my thoughts of the film when I first heard about it. I will stivk with Punisher 2004 ty excellent episode as always

I don't believe the catalog is online, but the official website can be found by clicking here. And yes, I would direct you to DCBService.com, because they do list every solicitation from the catalog on their site, along with pictures and their offered discount. I will stivk with Punisher 2004 ty I can fully understand why the film might put you off, Mike. It's a lot gorier and nastier than any other Punisher film, or indeed, any recent CBM - that magical Lionsgate touch! - and even then, the film still flopped. I'm currently torrenting the other movies to remind myself if they were as bad in their own ways; I have a feeling the cumulative grade of that three-part CR segment might be lower than the Fantastic Four triple header from 2007. I can understand marvel and or whatever studio they distributed it through wanting to go for the more gorier feel with the punisher and while I'm sure Ray Stevenson is an excellent actor I'm sorry it's hard for me to acknowlege actors whom are taking over a role that's already been established. For instance if by some ungodly reason Tobey Maguire didn't reprise peter/spidey in Spider-Man 4 and they got someone else to do it I probably wouldn't go see it in the theater. Or id the same thing happened to hugh jackman for wolverine the same princple applies. Once actors are cast as these characters in my opinion that's it that's who plays them no one else. Regardless if it's a reboot get the same damn actor!. Overall excellent segment Ian

You must hate James Bond. no I like bond, but he's a superspy not a comic book character I'm specifically talking about comic book movies when I'm talking about actors establishing a role. But that said I don't like the way they've taken the bond franchise. Most people didn't like Timothy Dalton's run well I compare craig to that and I liked License To Kill. Mike, that must make your favourite Batman Adam West (or even one of the actors from the movie serials), your favourite Hulk Lou Ferrigno and your favourite Punisher not Thomas Jane but Dolph Lundgren! And Craig's Bond is very much reminiscent of Dalton's - believe me, both Adham and I are fans so look forward to positive film reviews at the end of the summer! OK I see I'm gonna have to be very specific in what the hell I'm trying to say. The current Generation of Marvel/DC whomever comic book movies is what I'm referring to as characters being created and brought to life on the big screen by each individual actor. And as far as Craig goes that "reboot" of younger bond could have been done a few years down the line. And.... well I wish they'd have written up a few more ideas for Brosnan. For a few more films! there try finding a hole in that logic!

Mistah J
Mike I loved the show. You and Jenny are the Lois and Clark of geekdom. I'm right there with you on the marriage/baby talk stuff. I haven't even made it official that I'm engaged and my mom's bugging me about a grandaughter. Also, I love how dirty you are in all the podcasts you are in. Babs loves Dick after all, and I love Babs too. Be she Batgirl, Oracle or just Barbra I would not kick her out of my room. I've got a thing for redheads too, and my girl has red hair, so there you go. Have a good one Master Yoda and keep the E-2 train rolling. They're produced by the same people and regarded as official, as evidenced by Casino Royale being in my Bond boxset. It's a reboot, similar to that of Batman Begins. SuaveStar
Teen titans is not in continuity! Sorry wrong argument. The Craig Bond films are the start of Bonds career. Still haven't heard the episode, so can't give thoughts.
