SuaveStar
Yeah, I've got to be honest, this as an all round weak week for thatguywiththeglasses.com I didn't enjoy anything I saw.
dc20willsave
Yeah, I've got to be honest, this as an all round weak week for thatguywiththeglasses.com I didn't enjoy anything I saw. Which is sad since, you know, one year and all. Aniversery's aren't supposed to be this disappointing.
SuaveStar
Yeah, it almost seems like they focused on that big thing, rather than the videos that everyone goes to their site to see.
elnino14
Fanfic Theatre Episode 5 1 Year Sitcom: Working on Channel Awesome A couple new videos as That Guy With Glasses. Fanfic Theatre was ok, while the 1 Year Sitcom was absolutely terrible. Easily the most unfunny, disappointing video I've seen on the site. SuaveStar
Linkara VS Spoony, in a way. I'm only a few minutes in and it's the best video I've seen on the site all week. Linkara is just made of awesome.
Venneh
I didn't much like it. The Dr. Insano part at the end was the best part. He just couldn't muster the enthusiasm he did for the comic reviews he does, and he just seems really out of his depth.

Stavros
That Princess & the Frog might look decent but I got a very stereotypical black people in Disney feel off it. I'd honestly probably be very uncomfortable watching that in this day and age. I don't mind the old blatant rascism, its part of the charm of those early years, but this looks like its embracing a subtler yet more encompassing version of the same at a time when it shouldn't really be ok. Venneh
I'm not really sure what to think about it in that department. I don't know if Tiana's still a cleaning girl like she was before, and I will admit that there are some... interesting stereotypes w/r/t the voodoo part of it. I'm willing to give it a shot, though. (I do know that the voice of Goliath from Gargoyles is doing the voice of the villain of the movie, which should be quite nice, at the least.) dc20willsave
As much as I love Pixar, they ruined animation for me. Traditional animation has so much more charm than a pixil in my eyes so I will be giving this movie a try. If worst comes to worst, it still has to be better than Atlantis. Dread
Ah, the south in the late 19th century...the good ole days. <sarcasm>
Venneh
To be fair, it is the 1920s.
Dread
Does that make it better or worse?
Venneh
Sightly better, what with the Harlem Rennaissance going on? I mean, if it was the 19th century, then we'd be in the 1800s, and things would be pretty much the suck.
dc20willsave
And to be fair, I doubt it will go the Anastasia route of rewriting history so that tolerance is wide-spread and the south is a land of awesome for minorities at this time period. You can get away with it with imperialist Russia, not so much with your own culture.
Stavros
Who wants to bet that the villain isn't whitey? Because in the Disney retelling obviously the white man never kept the black man down. No, in the french quarter of New Orleans in 1920 black people cold somehow be princesses. Seriously, this is Disney rewriting history on an epic scale. The reptile on the brass instrument might be the closest thing to historically accurate this thing gets. In fact I don't remember seeing a single white person in a major role in that trailer. I call discrimination!
Venneh
...You're looking for historical accuracy in a Disney film? As far as I know at this point, there's maybe one white character, and that's the main character's rival.

Stavros
...You're looking for historical accuracy in a Disney film? As long as they attempt to use genuine historical periods in their films I shall demand a degree of realism dammit! Also, I shall not rest until Disney produces a realistically bleak interpretation of a lobster's life under the sea! Its not always the place to be.
