Matthew Vaughn’s “X Men: First Class” is picking up another cast member. Benjamin Walker, star of the Public Theater’s “Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson,” is the name to remember. He’s going to play Beast, the character played in “X Men 3″ by Kelsey Grammer. He’ll be joining the already cast James McAvoy and possibly Michael Fassbender.

True story.

Went to Iron Man 2 with a friend who's a lesbian. When Scarlett Johannson came on for the first time? She turned and looked at me and said the following:

"Best. Movie. EVER."

It was really fun to watch her reactions throughout the whole movie.

Lesbians are some of the coolest people ever.

She’s Out of My League star Alice Eve is in negotiations to play Emma Frost in X-Men: First Class, Deadline reports. Rosamund Pike (Surrogates) previously had been rumored for the role.

Eve will join James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and (supposedly) Benjamin Walker in the prequel that will reboot Fox’s X-Men franchise. Directed by Matthew Vaughn (Kick-Ass, Layer Cake), First Class returns to the beginning of the X-Men saga, to the time when Charles Xavier (McAvoy) and Erik Lensherr (Fassbender) were close friends, discovering their powers and working together to stop the greatest threat the world has ever known.

The London-born Eve, 28, appeared in Sex and the City 2, and will star opposite David Tennant in The Decoy Bride. At one point she was considered the frontrunner to play Peggy Carter in Captain America — a role that eventually went to Hayley Atwell.

X-Men: First Class begins production in August in London. The film is set to open on June 3, 2011.

Straight 2 DVD's Maarten Bouw got a chance to interview surfer Erica Hosseini, who recently revealed she was auditioning for a role in Matthew Vaughn's X-Men: First Class.

"I was auditioning for a role named Willow (hopefully I don't get in trouble for blabbing details on the off-chance that I get it). It's a role similar to Mystique from what I understand. Potentially lots of body paint, so that would be really fun," she said.

Willow is a fictional mutant character created by Marvel Comics for their Marvel 2099 run "X-Nation 2099." She had shapeshifting powers, much like Mystique, but when mimicking others her facial markings would remain.

We have confirmed that Nicholas Hoult (pictured) will play Beast and Caleb Landry Jones will play Banshee in X-Men: First Class, to be directed by Matthew Vaughn. The Banshee casting was first reported by Latino Review.

They join James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Alice Eve, who are set to play Charlies Xavier, Erik Lensher and Emma Frost, respectively.

X-Men: First Class, following the classic Marvel mythology, charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga. Before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Before they were archenemies, they were closest of friends, working together, with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop the greatest threat the world has ever known. In the process, a rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto's Brotherhood and Professor X's X-Men.

Lucas Till has joined the cast of X-Men: First Class, reportedly as the mutant brother of Cyclops, Alexander "Havok" Summers. Word of the casting comes from Entertainment Weekly, but the article also points out that this news may be a bit of misdirection on the part of Fox, who want to keep some of the roles a surprise.

Havok would be a logical choice for a story featuring a younger Scott Summers. He first appeared fairly early on in the X-Men mythos, resentful of Scott's boy scout attitude. Able to control plasma blasts, Havok went on to star in his own spinoff title, X-Factor.

Sinister would be cool and make sense, but they'd really need to update his in-costume look if they go with that at some point.
