dc20willsave Posted May 18, 2011 Report Share Posted May 18, 2011 Day 24 - Your Favorite Comic Book TV Show (Live Action) The Middleman is the best live-action show based on a comic book for a number of reasons. 1) It's faithful to the source material but knows when to shy away from it. 2) While the show only lasted 12 episodes, all 12 are fucking awesome. 3) Every episode features the cast saying things like "The Dread Pyramid of Itzilichlitlichlitzl" with a perfectly straight face. 4) It's one of the funniest and geekiest things ever to show up on the television. 5) Every episode uses the in it someplace. 6) If you're any type of geek, there's something in the show for you. 7) The phrase "Tentacle Hentai Monster" is used in the first episode. 8) "My plan is sheer elegance in its simplicity." 9) All of the main characters are well developed individuals and mostly don't fit into any specific trope and the ones they do, it's lampshaded. 10) There's an episode featuring evil Lucha Libra wrestlers. 11) If you ever meet the cast, I swear, you'll never meet a group of people who loved working on something so much and it shows. Koete Posted May 18, 2011 Report Share Posted May 18, 2011 Day 24 - Your Favorite Comic Book TV Show (Live Action) Michael Rosenbaum's Lex Luthor, John Glover's Lionel Luthor, and John Schneider's Jonathan Kent were worth Smallville's grating teen soap opera melodrama, groan worthy pop culture reference dialogue, baffling dichotomy of embracing and rejecting comic book lore, and a Clark Kent whose indecisiveness made it impossible to take him seriously as the man who would become Superman.
