Question: Can sunlight kill Alucard and Donovan, or are they immune to it like Blade?

A buddy of mine told me a rumor this weekend, and it went something like this: Robert Rodriguez wanted to make a Sin City film and took the idea to Frank Miller who promptly said, "No." Robert, not wanting to take that for an answer, asked to at least pitch it. Frank listened and he liked what he heard but had one stipulation -- it must be in black and white. Being the accomplished filmmaker that he is, Rodriguez told Frank that a black and white movie would never sell. So Frank baulked at the idea, but Robert asked Frank to let him show him what he could do. And they filmed a ten minute scene using some sort of technology (I'm not into film) that Frank loved. Because Robert uses video and not film, he can film the movie quickly and supposedly have it out by the end of the year or early 2005. Interesting rumor, but I wasn't sure if it was true. I hate it too, but I'll tell you why it's an okay idea: 01. Gambit looks grimy, just like Keanu. 02. Gambit wears a trench coat, as did Neo. And Keanu looked good in it. 03. Gambit has a staff, as did Neo for the one fight in the second Matrix film. (Frankly, those moves were sweet, and it would be killer is they had Gambit do something similar.)

(source) I couldn't get enough of Ian when he was on Cable -- his vision of the character seemed perfect. And his work on Age of Apocalypse was by far his best to date. (See the image of Apocalypse below.) Eventually he went off to work on Coven, and promptly disappeared. Now that he's back, I have to wonder if anyone even cares. He was never a huge name to draw readers in, if I remember correctly he missed deadlines, and, frankly, his style, as good as it is, is what was wrong with comics in the 90s -- a super-ultra-über amount of hash marks, impossible muscles, and even more impossibly large tits. (I take that last part back, as he could draw three cup sizes: apples, cantaloupes, and watermelons.)

Are you kidding me? I'm not saying the Falcon couldn't win -- if that were the case I wouldn't have made the poll -- but I don't know about "obliterate". The 1701-D is huge, is staffed by the finest crew in Starfleet, and has defensive/offensive capabilities that are virtually unmatched. It's stood toe-to-toe with the Borg, and won. With Han's piloting skills and sly tricks they could easily hide from and sneak attack the Enterprise many times, but I don't think we'll see the Falcon "obliterate" anyone. I'm still torn on who wins, however.

Sinister might be too out there, even for this type of movie. Gambit for sure, Psylocke or Emma (to replace Jean), Havoc, Angel, and Beast, as well as Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch as Magneto's bastard children. I'll cast 'em later.

The comic couldn't hold a candle to the HBO Spawn cartoon, however.
