They're not real, any of them. They took high quality digital scans of the sets before the end of BSG.

Now I know why the cylons rebelled: they hate lens flare. (I did quite like this and the virtual sets are pretty good)

Prof, I would seriously suggest that you The Life of Reilly if you haven't already. It really hits on a lot of the points you're making and there's a lot that you've guessed correctly regarding editorial decisions.

First episode of Judge Dredd: The Cold Deck
Really good procedural so far and it pulled off an amazing narrative trick last week. 2000AD's currently got its best line up in years.

I can only guess these Scarlet issues were trying to boost sales by ripping off of the AOA interruptions of the X-Titles.
That is exactly what happened according to Glenn Greenberg. The marketing department saw the success of the AoA titles and wanted the Spidey books to replicate it, ignoring the fact that the AoA had a strong narrative drive and a year of preparation behind it. The Spidey guys managed to negotiate them down to 2 issues a title rather than 4 except for Web of Scarlet Spider, which would get the full four. That's right, two more issues of the Scarlet Spider after Ben had given up the name. The Spider-man writers were pretty sick of the delays getting Ben into the costume and just powered through these issues as best as they could before getting to Sensational Spider-man #0 where Ben would finally, finally become Spider-man.

Got the final ever trade of Nikolai Dante today. Truly epic. It has one of my favourite lines ever, though I can't tell you who said it or the context: "look at me boy, I'm what happens to heroes!"
Fantastic ending to a fantastic saga.

Doctor Who special on Children in Need
Not a surprise as they've done one for all the previous events for the last 7 years, but still looking forward to it. I also just finished the Big Finish Audio "Voyage to Venus" and it's an incredible amount of fun and dirt cheap as well. Almost makes up for Colin Baker going on "I'm a Celebrity Get me Out of Here".
