  1. It was released on PS2 and XBOX, but not gamecube for some reason. 20 dollars is the correct price, and there are some great games on there, including Final Fight!!!
  2. Other games had been doing that for years by that point. Seems like they should lose a point or two for taking so damn long to add those very basic elements into their fighting franchise. I know other fighting games had those elements, that's why I made sure to say that they re-invented the MK series, not fighting games in general. Yes, it took them awhile to upgrade the fighting system to more than special moves, but when they did, it was a complete 180 from the direction the series was going. I'll be honest, I was never a big fan of the original MK games, my wife completely loves them to an almost scary level, but I was more into street fighter. The DA and Deception versions made me love the series and actually made me want to take the time to learn everything, to understand the characters and story, and get everything down. With Mario Kart, Nintendo just put out the same game but on a different platform. The SNES version was an amazing game, the 64 version was basically Mario Kart 1.5, with no improvement over the original, The Gamecube version, while trying the gimmick of having 2 drivers in a cart, also seemed like a shallow upgrade, and the hand held version on the DS seems like the only worthy succesor, mostly inpart to the WiFi option. So both games are very guilty of remaining stagnant, and failing to improve over the various incarnations. I just feel that when the games did decide to progress further, Mortal Kombat did it in a bigger way, and pulled it off better.
  3. You are correct, and let me say I Forgotten Worlds
  4. Capcom Classics Collection, awesome set, although it is missing some things, most noticeably Strider. It's funny how it makes you feel old to play games that you remember form the arcade that are now considered oldschool.
  5. Vincent D'Onofrio would be awesome, he would be perfect to play Dent.
  6. Before Deadly Alliance and Deception came out, I would have gone with Mario Kart, but those games completely re-invented the Mortal Kombat series, making it more than just a special move game that had blood, but into a real fighting game with combos, reversals, inspired levels, great character depth, huge storyline usually unscene in fighting games and so forth. Plus in my opinion, the best Mario Kart was the original on the SNES, so it loses points for me for failing to ever improve over the years, even though Nintendo tried with a new gimmick for the Gamecube version.
  7. If the company, based on their own accords, deserves a positive review, I don't see it as a conflict of interest. Plenty of sites are sposered and run ads on the main pages for companies, but it doesn't mean they need to only refer to them positively. A company sponsers a show/website to get their name out there, so they are taking the risk that you will be honest about their level of service, both the good and the bad. Plus I'd like to think that most people are smart enough to differentiate a positive review and a shill.
  8. God, Gyllenhaal would be such a horrible choice.
  9. Nope, here's a hint: It was the first, and one of the only, arcade games that allowed players to buy items and powerups from a shop in each level.
  10. Nope, and I will say this, it was not any street fighter game. Infact SF2 was released in 1991, if my memory is correct, making the CPS hardware 3 years old at that point.
  11. What was the first arcade game released on Capcom's Proprietary Hardware CPS(Capcom Play System).
  12. He is the only character in the game whose name has the option of being changed by the player, so his name is never spoken because the game would have to be able to say whatever name a player comes up with.
  13. You're right, Hugo was also acceptable. I agree with you about final fight being underrated, everyone gives love for Streets of Rage, when Final Fight was out for 2 full years before SoR, and SoR rips everything off of Final Fight.
  14. Since we've already done comic and movie trivia, I thought it's time to have a go with video games. Usual rules apply; -Wait for confirmation of your answer before posting a new question -48 hour rule in effect -Honor code that you don't look up answers on the internet So, since I'm in an oldschool mood, Name five characters that appeared in the Street Fighter series that were orignally from Final Fight, and Poison does not count as one.
  15. I can't believe Cartoon Network keeps getting rid of all their good shows, but I guess you got to make room for whatever the new flavor of the month is in Japan to bring over.
  16. She's very cute, too. But she's a ginger, she has no soul.

    PS3 news

That's funny, beacause Microsoft themselves have admitted that the PS3 is more powerful then the Xbox 360.
  18. So, unfortantly, the store was sold out. Boo. However, I did pick up Capcom Classics Collection. All 3 Street fighter 2's, all 3 ghosts and goblins, Forgotten fucking Worlds, all together 22 games. I still plan on getting the X collection.
  19. That's it. You and your logic are the first ones on my "ignore" list. I had to get you back for pointing out my misspelling of the word language in the Oratory's "Be Controversial" thread.
  20. I have love for Phantasm in a "B" movie way, and ofcourse the Tall Man rocks.
  21. Hmm, Smallville Jedi style? More like OC with lightsabers.
  22. Phone Booth as a drama? It was more of a thriller than anything else. So do you plan on listing your's, or just criticizing everyone's picks I only criticized yours. And I'll get to mine. Actually, you criticized Pablo's, I was merely pointing it out, so haha.
  23. I heard it was basically going to be a teen drama set in the Star Wars universe, and according to your link, it sounds like that's what it will be.
  24. Personally, I would have wished they had Gwen Stacy in the first one, but I guess they didn't want to end the movie on to much of a sad note.
