  1. Lex Luthor's my choice for the obvious reasons. When you think of Superman, you think of Lex Luthor.

That's exactly what I was thinking when I read the question.

I also would argue that Luthor is Superman's main adversary in a way that few other heroes have a main bad guy. Wolverine has Sabertooth, but he also has Lady Deathstrike and Magneto. Batman has Penguin and Catwoman; Captain America has Baron Zemo. Spider-Man has the Green Goblin, but he also has Venom, Sandman and Doc Ock.

    Luthor is the Superman villain.

Batman's main villain is The Joker. Penquin or Catwoman? Not even in the same league. The Joker has the tendency to bring out the worst in Batman. The same thing for Captain America and the Red Skull. There is a hatred between them, while most other villains it's just another day in the office.

  2. It's a nonissue, frankly; every current superpowered character (mutant, alien, human, mystic, etc.) has a power which can be used to fight, injure and / or kill. But I'll answer the question nonetheless: yes, even someone whose farts smell like freshly cut grass should have to register. Why, because of secondary mutations. One day he might wake up with the ability to communicate with grass, which he can then use in a Ra's al Ghul kind of way.

Ok I was curious on your position, and your hardcore man.

  3. Well, I've got no idea how these things typically work, but all I saw was an average tag match (in an actual ring suprisingly) with a bit of chain wrestling between a couple of decent wrestlers. I'm guessing this is also home to crappy backyard brawling where untrained people jump off cars and hit each other with barbwire covered baseball bats.

Thats the type of shit I never want to see.

Yea that pretty much what I think of when I hear about backyard wrestling. I knew some peeps back in the day that did that stuff, bunch of idoits.

  4. Anyway, my response to the actual statement is this: eventually those powers are going to be used. In the very first issue of Alias Jessica defenestrated an upset customer. She was only able to do that because of her powers. Granted, she was protecting herself, but the point is that she used them. Now repeat the above scenario, but have Jessica fire a gun. Her body, like a gun which must be registered, is a weapon.

So then every mutant that has a power should be registered, even if thier power isn't dangerous. Like someone like Beak(the chicken-like human) who dosen't have any dangerous powers? My question is though, knives can be used to kill people and you don't have to register them.

    Prior to that I wrote:

There is a great moral debate here, and it's one I've struggled with. But the fact remains that nearly everybody with a power (vigilante or otherwise) poses a threat to society.

    "Nearly everybody."

I'm aware that some powers are harmless, and that's where the "great moral debate" comes in here. However, of the remaining (RE: living) members of the original "198," none have harmless mutations. The only one who could have furthered your point was the blue-skinned Jazz, but he's now dead. The rest can use their powers to fight, injure and / or kill.

Registering knives isn't feasible because, unlike guns and these superhuman powers, they're virtually untraceable.

I'm at a slight disadvantage since I don't quite know what the original 198 is, still you kind of tip-toe around the question Do you register everyone who has powers whether or not they're dangerous?

Another question, What happens to the heroes who refuse and then get captured?

  5. From KryptonSite:

    Green Arrow Comes To Smallville!

TV Guide's July 24 edition, now arriving in subscriber mailboxes with a nifty Tom Welling cover, has a BIG scoop -- that the DC Comics character of Oliver Queen, better known to fans as Green Arrow, will be making an appearance in Smallville for a story arc that will go for "at least seven episodes."

"He will start to form the nascent Justice League," Smallville executive producer Alfred Gough tells TV Guide in this week's issue. "He's trying to find like-minded people with special powers and put a more formal structure in place."

The article goes on to say that Clark will initially be wary of Green Arrow, much like he was when future characters such as the Flash or Aquaman showed up in previous seasons. "Ultimately Clark will see the value of what he is trying to do," Gough says. "But as he's gotten older, Clark has become more cautious. He will always be there to help out, but he doesn't want to be part of a formalized organization."

Just as big as the announcement of the character is the casting - Justin Hartley, who played the role of AC/Aquaman in Millar & Gough's Aquaman pilot will be playing the role of Ollie.

The article says that Hartley was quickly offered the Smallville gig. "What really appealed to us is that he has a great combination of sexiness and humor," Gough says.

TV Guide does not reveal when Oliver will first appear on the show, though here at KryptonSite, we are hearing that he may show up as early as the season's second episode, "Sneeze." (Visit the KryptonSite spoilers page for more about the new season!)

TV Guide also reveals that Lois Lane will take a romantic interest in the emerald archer.

Also in this week's article is one of the first print mentions of Aaron Ashmore's casting as Jimmy Olsen, who will be a recurring guest star. "In our first episode back, they reconnect," Gough says. "And so Chloe Sullivan finally gets a boyfriend."

Am I the only one who thought it was odd to cast Aaron ashmore as Jimmy Olsen? He looks alot like his brother(I assume) who has been a villain in a couple of episodes. I love the fact though that Linoel Luthor is returning to the darkside, he seems better suited for it espically since Lex tends to be more of a tweener. He keeps walking to the edge of the darkness dips his foot in then kinda of backs off.

  6. Anyone else watch this show?

"H.O.U.S.E. Rules" just aired, and I went absolutely nuts when S.A.R.A.H. asked, "Shall we play a game," after Fargo revealed she used to be a war games simulator. (If you don't get the reference, you're too young. Go away!)

Yea it's a really good show, but if they go through with having Henry(One of my favorite characters) leave i'm not sure if i'll watch another season. Henry and Carter's characters have a real good flo between them and it's half the reason I watch the show

  8. Lex Luthor's my choice for the obvious reasons. When you think of Superman, you think of Lex Luthor.

That's exactly what I was thinking when I read the question. There's just no other way to vote. When you think about any hero you usually think of thier nemesis at the same time (i.e Batman/Joker, Wolverine/Sabertooth, Captain America/Red Skull).

  9. Clark told Lana. Everything.

    He also proposed.

    She said yes.

    Jonathan won the election.

Lana told Lex about the proposal.

    Lex got mad.

    Lana left.

Lex, drunk off his ass, followed Lana in his car.

Lana's car got plowed by a bus.

    She died.

Clark went to the fortress and pleaded with Jor-El to bring her back.

Jor-El complied, but warned that there would be a price.

He also told Clark that this was a one-time deal.

    Time reverted 24 hours.

This time, Clark didn't tell Lana.

    Nor did he propose.

    They broke up.

    Jonathan won the election.

Lana told Lex that she and Clark broke up.

    Lex kissed her.

    Lana left.

Lex, drunk off his ass, followed Lana in his car.

Clark was able to stop the bus.

    Lana lived.

Lionel Luthor attempted to blackmail Jonathan.

Jonathan punched him, and staggered away.

Jonathan had a heart attack and died.

    The end.

    LAME!

Word. Smallville though has a habit of being lame. It just dosen't push boundries like it could.

  10. Just saw "Things Change."

I marked out for the appearance of Slade, and it was a great ep, emotionally. But, daymn... I could see how they could end the series on it, yet it's kinda a depressing end to the show.

Yea It was a good ep, but it being the end of the series is so Anticlimactic....

  11. Former X-Files star David Duchovny is set to become the new Incredible Hulk after Aussie actor Eric Bana pulled out of the sequel project. Peter Cuneo, the vice chairman of comic book franchise Marvel, revealed Duchovny is the frontrunner to play the green giant in The Incredible Hulk 2 in a recent interview with AOL's Motley Fool Radio Team. He said, "Duchovny's name has been bought up several times. He's quite the fan too." Bana pulled out of the sequel when he discovered the plan was to release the film direct to DVD. Cuneo insists there's still life in the Hulk project: "Hulk did $250 million worldwide box office, which is a huge box office, and as you may recall, we had tremendous success with our toy line, which was a complete sell-out, over $100 million worldwide."

Direct to DVD? Thats not a good sign....

  12. Argh, I missed the last episode. Did I really miss anything?

    *spoilers*

The villians they choose for the second to last episode were just bad. All they did was grab every single one ever created, 'cept Slade. No matter that the puppet king really can't do much, or that the double D racing guy was without a car for the first half. And then good Jinx just pops in randomly at the end. The whole episode felt rushed, like the writers had a big 5 episode battle planned out, then told to do it in 1

Did you watch any of this season? It was an end to the storyline that they were doing. It fit well I thought, and was pretty good.

  13. Aw. Don't hate on Edge. Sure, he isn't picture perfect in the ring, but he's so much more exciting (as a character) than Cena. (Don't get me wrong, I like Cena. But he's one of the reasons I stopped watching Raw for a while; he's just a little too bland right now.)

I actually prefer neither of them to have it. WWE is so lost without Triple H not holding the world title. You may not like the guy for being such a jerk but he makes everybody look good in the ring. He carries so many people whether its by losing or winning. Who ever has the title at WrestleMania will give it up to Triple H. Like they did with Jericho a few years ago. I hate it but for WWE to put out a good product HHH has to hold the title.

I've loved HHH since 1999, but I'm not sure he's the answer. Putting the title back on him is like giving it to Jarrett again; the more he wears it, the more he takes away the credibility of other champions. Especially new champs like Cena, Batista, Edge, and even JBL.

Edge and the WWE need this run to work if they're going to establish him as a credible main eventer. I truly believe Edge needs to wear the belt up to and through 'Mania.

Here are a few questions for ya:

    01. Currently there are two heel champions, and HHH made a bold claim that he's going to win the Rumble and walk out of Mania with one of those titles. (Which I don't doubt.) Assuming the title situation between now and WM22 remains unchanged, which title will HHH gun for?

    02. Does the WWE have the guts to put on a heel v heel championship match at Wrestlemania?

    03. Will Edge and / or Angle drop their respective belt before WM22, and, if so, to whom?

    04. What will the title matches be? I'm guessing Edge v HHH v Cena will represent Raw, and Angle v Mysterio will represent Smackdown.

I think they are turning Angle.

As for TNA its on at such a bad time that I never get a chance to watch it.

  14. To those who voted Magneto, lets assume you are NOT a mutant, would your answer still be the same?

I'm leaning towards Joker myself. Between the 3 of them, he is the only one that never really has a 'master' plan, and while he is erratic (read: crazy), I think as long as what you are doing with him keeps him occupied and entertained enough, then there is les chance of him having time to think about turning on you.

With the Joker you have to watch your back at all times. The man would kill you just because he thinks its funny. Besides there is no cause that the Joker would fight for.

  15. While rereading Bullseye: Greatest Hits I started to wonder if the assassin is a mutant or not. His origin has only been revealed in bits and pieces and some elements contradict others. This has made it rather hard to ascertain whether he's trained to hone the skill that's made him infamous, or if he was born with the power that allows him to kill anyone with any thrown object.

What do you guys think: mutant or not?

I've never at any point read in a comic that even pointed to it. So I seriously doubt it, but I do know at one point his bones were laced with adamantium. I haven't read daredevil in a while though
