Naw...she was out walking around the neighbourhood with our neighbour making sure it wasn't false labour. She had her first contraction at around 7pm last night and our new son, Davin John Reddick, was born by 11:30pm! Mom and baby are healthy and I just came home to have a shower and pick up big brother to go back to the hospital while mom and baby sleep. I'll put a pic up soon enough. Thanks!

Is anybody actually on second Life? I started up and got going but it's pretty stupid if you ask me. Fly around and talk to people who hate noobies. It's damn near impossible to find anything. anyone?

Thanks James! You should also thank Yoda, I think he put the Ichi the Killer reference in the opening paragraph, not me. I'm all pretentious and think everybody knows about Miike. I was a little leary about writing this review as it was less analytical about the genre and more of a review that almost nobody would go and buy from reading that even though it was favorable. Maybe I'll do an analytical thing on Buck and Cerda's work later on down the line. Next week, however, will be a review that everybody has to read and take my advice on.... OOOHHHH: teaser!

To me it seems like WW is built for the comics and animated stuff. Being so imposing and being the world's most beautiful woman makes a live action film sketchy at best. Plus, I don't want to see a modernized update of her costume.

I've got to say that I'm in no way interested in a WW movie. I like the character but, even with Whedon involved, I can't fathom a movie being anything but pure cheese.

He was in one scene in the preview but he was screaming. I think you're right though. It sets up the fact that he was doing everything for the side of good. Shit will hit the fan near the end of this season. I think I'm moving closer to Yoda's thought about Hiro. All his talk of "mission" and heroic language and "I'll never betray you" stuff is all pushing him towards the big bad as far as I'm concerned. Did Hiro tell Peter to save the cheerleader so that he could absorb both her and Sylar's powers? And for that matter, is future Hiro one of the people Claude has trained?

I also meant to suggest for those looking for more NoTLD goodness to check out the Tom Savini remake from 1990. They modernized Barbra's role and Tony Todd is brilliant in the Ben role. It's a slightly muddled movie but Romero oversaw it all and stands as one of my favourite remakes. A Joe R. Lansdale story called 'The Night They Missed the Picture Show' is an awesome and skincrawlingly realistic portrayal of the south's treatment of blacks during the film's theatrical run. A couple of white friends on their way to Night of the Living Dead at the drive-in come across a group of good ole boys beating up a black guy. They save him mostly because the good ole boys are from a rival school but things go south (figuratively) when they meet some bad ole boys. Yikes. No zombies but terrifying nonetheless. It's found in an anthology called Horrorscapes vol. 1. If anybody has vol.2 for that matter I'd be so happy to buy it off them. That is all.

Yep, you're nuts. That device must be important. Everything in that picture has purpose. Is it Orion's weapon or something New God-ish? I seem to recall that...and Mr. Miracle seems to be interested in it.
