Since we don't see what happens off-screen when Jenny screams, my head canon is a SWAT team arrives, rescues Jenny, and arrests the "parents" who were going to harm her. How do the police know? I don't care. We get a happy ending though.

The Crazies - The main protagonist takes a knife through the right hand and and pulls the knife out in a very gruesome scene. Two scenes later he uses his right hand to throw a punch to somebody's face and completely no sells the fact that doing that should be incredibly painful. This is for the most part a very good movie, but that was STUPID.
You cannot have a character get injured and then two scenes later forget that he's been injured and act like there is absolutely no pain whatsoever from that injury. If you cannot find a way to sell the injury for the rest of the movie, take the injury out of the script. It has gotten so bad that when I see a character get seriously injured, I fully expect he will be no-selling the injury within two scenes. And I am almost always right.
In fairness, this is not just a problem with The Crazies. I see this all the time, in addition to ridiculous bumps and falls and hits that should freaking cripple someone.

That is a BRUTAL movie, especially the ending. The ending was effective at what it was trying to do, and I can't fault it for the execution, but I really hated it, and hated the characters. I guess that was what was supposed to happen.

I am normally not fond of PG-13 horror movies, but this one didn't need an R rating because of the comedic tone.

I think this would ignite a pretty significant cosmic war.

I read through the first four years of Injustice: Gods Among Us in 2021. Just started Year Five. It is a great series, and mostly the characterization is good... other than Superman.
In the aftermath of the Joker murdering his wife and unborn child, I understand why he would want to ensure that no more innocents are victimized and decide the best way to accomplish that is to take over the world.
However, this version of Superman goes way too far. I don't have a problem with Superman killing the Joker in a fit of grief and rage. But the rest of his actions just don't line up with Superman.
SpoilerSuperman would never murder Oliver Queen, Katar Hol and Dinah Lance in cold blood.
In the first volume, Batman says that Superman will remain the best man he ever knew, and there are some things even the Joker can't corrupt. That was one of the most beautiful, touching scenes I have ever read or watched in any work of fiction - comics, movies or anywhere. It shows just how important Superman is, when even Batman looks up to and admires him. Even Batman thinks Superman is "the best of us." They are brothers.
Making Superman a paranoid, murderous tyrant is a significant departure from the traditional characterization of Kal-El as a paragon of virtue - imperfect, yes, but someone who values morality. He would never be what Injustice Superman became. Even the dark and brooding Kingdom Come Superman never resorted to cold-blooded murder of friends and allies.
Yes, there are many ways to tell stories and many ways to write a character. But I personally strongly dislike how Kal-El was portrayed here.

Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins - So did the people who wrote the script for this movie actually watch the last G.I. Joe movie? Because the origin for Snake Eyes here completely contradicts every single thing that was established about the origin of that character and Storm Shadow in the previous movie.
If if this was a reboot I would not have as much of a problem with it. I can accept that there can be multiple interpretations of a character. As a prequel, though, this makes NO sense.

Definitely not close to the comics, as Superman is much farther gone in the comics. A good movie, though definitely not a faithful adaptation of the comics.
With that said, I prefer the movie to the comics, as the movie is closer to the mainline interpretation of Superman than the comics are. In the movie there is still some of Clark Kent left, while the comic series pretty drastically alters the Superman character to make him a wild-eyed paranoid tyrant.
I still think the abrupt ending and shift in Superman's characterization is a little difficult to believe, and the movie would have been better had they set that up more effectively.

I was happy to see this hit the feed and immediately downloaded and listened to it.
I mentioned my problems with the movie before, so I will just link to the other thread. I still don't like the ending, for the same reasons as before. And I agree with @dc20willsave that they went right up to the edge of a really cool ending before losing their nerve and going the more traditional route. I think the movie would be remembered much more fondly had they actually followed through and let the villain win.

This is why I hope AEW continues to grow and eventually poses a legitimate challenge to WWE. Maybe then WWE will avoid kneecapping their own talent (and losing the money they bring into the company) over stupid petty things.

I haven't watched WWE in a while, so I am not sure when this happened.
But as over as Otis was, and as charismatic as he was, I cannot figure out why WWE would want to strip all of that away and make him a generic monster heel.

Yeah. The ongoing legal squabbles over who owns the rights is the real-world equivalent of the Joker setting that mountain of cash on fire in The Dark Knight. There must be a lot of personal animosity going on behind the scenes for people to give up that much money.

I can see why WWE wouldn't want to dredge up a 23 year old storyline that almost no one outside of the most hardcore fans remember, but it still would be fun to see.
(So long as that fan-service moment is done in a way that doesn't make Bron Breakker into a comedy heel.)

It looks like the original screenwriter for Friday the 13th will take back rights to the franchise - but possibly not the monstrous adult Jason character.
It amazes me, after the mountain of cash that the Friday the 13th remake made, that the feuding parties have not been able to come to an agreement about sharing revenue. It seems like profit motive alone would be enough to get them out of court and to the bargaining table.
I would be more than willing to take fewer millions, than no millions at all.

Fast & Furious 8 - This is the first main timeline film I have watched, after watching Hobbs & Shaw earlier this year. So I am still very confused how this series went from being about illegal street racing to international spy action/thriller. So I should probably watch the series in order.
I was laughing out loud the entire time at how stupid this was. Very entertaining, because it is so dumb.

Finished Season 4 of Cobra Kai and I really dislike Daniel now. Especially related to his actions in the tournament. Spoiler:
Daniel spends the entire season determined that Miyagi-do is the only way and then berates his daughter for going on the offensive. We have to win "the right way." Except that the fighters he berated broke no rules and were not fighting dirty. Then, when he is in danger of losing, he abandons his teachings and his "principles" and embraces Cobra Kai's aggression.
Daniel is a hypocrite who abandons his "principles" when it is convenient, while holding on to his self-righteous moral superiority.
I really liked Kreese's arc though.
It becomes clear he cares about Johnny, almost like an adopted son. This is why Silver sees Johnny as Kreese's weakness.
Tori has always been sympathetic, and this season made Sam look like the villain in their relationship. Sam is bitter and vengeful, while Tori...
legitimately appears to be concerned that she hurt Sam with an unintentional elbow. Tori's relationship with Amanda is very sweet, and Sam is clearly jealous. She passes judgment on Tori ex cathedra with not a hint of sympathy.
Season 4 was a significant improvement over Season 3. Looking forward to Season 5.
