  1. Please bring Ian and @James D. along for that one.
  2. Not as entertaining as the takedowns of the Saw series on Earth-2 The Show, but Jigsaw as an ECW fan on We Hate Movies was hilarious.
  3. Earthbound. Man this game requires a lot of grinding. I'm about to go to Threed.
  4. The New Mutants: There's nothing in this film to tie it to the X-Men, except for two lines in the middle. That was the right choice, because the X-Men timeline is incomprehensible at this point. I liked it. The horror theme worked well. A much better choice for the final entry in the X-Men franchise than Dark Phoenix. Films Watched: 41
  5. It is also misogynistic. The use of rape as a plot device in these movies is horrifying, and Kersey’s love interest and her daughter both exist for the sole purpose of being killed. Women in refrigerators anyone?
  6. I was probably being way too kind. But it's not just racism. It is complete disregard for due process and civil rights. I'm stopping before I rant.
  7. Interesting. I was listening while washing dishes and it stuck out. I don’t think I have ever listened to Bigger on the Inside, as I have never watched Dr. Who. I did have a Dr. Who Make Your Own Adventure book about 30 years ago. I have always meant to watch it but never got around to it. I think I’ve heard you use that word on Earth-2: The Show, on the Halloween 2007 review and the Saw VI review. Different editorial decisions for different podcasts, or site-wide now? I am fine with it. Just curious.
  8. Death Wish 4: If you're looking for some unapologetic War on Drugs propaganda, here you go. This movie in particular leans hard into POC as drug pushers, to the point it borders on racist if it doesn’t cross over that line. My favorite section: How stupid are they? This whole series portrays cops as bumbling fools. Films Watched: 40
  9. I don't think I've ever heard a word bleeped on an Earth-2 podcast before.
  10. This episode makes me sad, because I know we're nearing the end of this podcast.
  11. Given what @The Master has said about Boba Fett, I think he would find this amusing. https://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2020/11/04/boba Which reminds me I need to read Penny Arcade more.
  12. Will is totally right about the gas leak smell. It's almost like people who make movies have no idea how stuff works in the real world. Are the people who write these things really that sheltered? @dc20willsave and Skyler are also right about the magic voice box. I would have no problem with it at all in a science fiction environment (the T-1000 did it) but if you are going to set a movie in the "real world" then you need to base your gadgets in what is possible at the time. I thought the discussion of Maureen Prescott's past was needlessly exploitative and and unnecessary retcon of previous movies. It certainly could have been handled with more sensitivity. Others' mileage may vary. I re-watched the Scream movies thanks to this series of reviews. One thing I always liked about this series is that the killers are not unstoppable forces of nature... they can be hurt and stunned. The problem is that there should be more physical signs of the hits they took while fighting with whoever they were trying to kill. "Hey dude, how did you get that black eye and cut lip?"
  13. American Murder: The Family Next Door - Chris Watts is an evil man. Just pure evil. Films Watched: 39
  14. Wow. Fifteen years. Wow. I personally can't believe I've been on this forum for 16 and 1/2 years. I've been on a number of forums over the years, but none of them had the staying power of this one. I remember Wizard in the 1990's. I'm sure the Internet killed Electronic Gaming Monthly and GamePro too. I remember when both Wizard and EGM were perfect bind. (The glue back.) Brings back memories, and both @The Master and @Dan made good points. One of the best episodes I've listened to.
  15. The Sheik: I'm most of the way through the documentary on the life of The Iron Sheik. One of the greatest heels of the 1980's, and universally respected. It's free on the official YouTube Movies channel. It was really sad to see his life after he was fired from the WWF for breaking kayfabe. This film is 6 years old. The fact that Vince McMahon did not take care of him financially after he was so important to the rise of wrestling in the 1980's is repulsive. Films watched: 38
  16. From @The Master's Twitter: "What is the best comic book adaptation / movie pre-Batman Begins?" Mask of the Phantasm. (The quote BB Code seems to have stopped working.)
  17. Along came a spider: Morgan Freeman is great as usual in this effective drama. Two quibbles: And... Still, I recommend it. Films watched: 37
  18. MGS2 cutscenes are WAY too long. It really breaks up the gameplay.
  19. The Spoony Experiment did a parody of that scene in one of the Ultima reviews and it was the most horrifying thing I have ever seen.
  20. Aftermath: Another film by Governor Schwarzenegger, this one from 2017. Schwarzenegger shows some real acting chops here, in arguably the best performance I have ever seen from him. Overall, a very effective drama. My biggest problem was the ending. Films watched: 36 I just saw a package of Toaster Strudel in the grocery store this past weekend. It had a picture of Lacey Chabert on the box and "Fetch" was written in icing on the pastry. Well, what do you know. She actually made Fetch happen.
  21. That said, I liked Hostage. It seems like Bruce Willis always plays Bruce Willis, but that is not a bad thing. He is usually really good no matter what role he plays. He also has apparently discovered immortality, as he does not age. I thought for sure this was a re-watch when I added it to my Netflix list, but I don't remember a frame of it.
  22. Hostage: For a movie that is supposed to be set in the real world there is some serious Bullseye stuff going on here... Films Watched: 35
  23. I have, about 15 years ago. It was a fun movie. Silly, but fun. Raw Deal didn't have nearly the charm of Commando, which was over-the-top fun. Plus David Patrick Kelly is in Commando. I had just seen The Warriors for the first time, which I watched after finishing the PS2 game.
  24. This is an amazing detail. Conspiracy Theory: Owen finally got to the point he could not put off this work any more. So he hatched a plan. He tipped off the Empire to the location of R2D2, even though he knew he would die, so he would not have to paint the ceiling.
