  1. Just bought Phantasm II, Phantasm III: Lord of the Dead, and TCM Greatest Classic Films Collection: Horror (House of Wax 1953 / The Haunting 1963 / Freaks / Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde 1941).
  2. Psst...Mike. You can now use the wedding planning excuse.

    New Static series?

All I know is that there's an ongoing launching in 2011 written by Felicia Henderson.
  5. Has Michael Clarke Duncan been announced as Darkseid yet? No? Damn.
  6. Which continuity are you talking about? If you're talking about 616, she was the beauty queen of Standard High. We'll have to agree to disagree on this one, as I think she looks like Mary Jane walked off the comic page.
  7. I'll never understand Hollywood. Never.
  8. If the trend holds, it'll either be Ryan Reynolds or Chris Evans.
  9. Love these two. I have no idea who I would cast in the lead role. It's a big cape to fill and I can't think of anyone off the top of my head who I could see as Superman.
  10. Gaiman dropping a few hints about his story, which are:
  11. This is on the "Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark" level of perfect casting.
  12. Insomnia (2002) - Solid thriller from Nolan, though it's probably my second least favorite of his (not that that's a bad thing, as I like all of his films). Part of this is because it lacks a certain air of "Nolanness," and the other part is because I find the 1997 Norwegian original superior, which I admit is unfair as remakes are always a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation. The Science of Sleep (2006) - A sci-fi romance from Michel Gondry where a man's perception of what is dream and what is reality blurs. I love what Gondry does with the dream aspects of the mise-en-scene, he's brilliant with visuals. The film is unsuccessful, however, because the story goes on for a bit and then just stops. It reaches a point where what is dream and what is reality becomes more difficult to discern, which is engaging, but ultimately there is no resolution. I'm sure Gondry's intention was for the film to feel as dreamlike as possible, which I commend, but I still can't help feeling unfulfilled at the end.
  13. I'd save the $2500 for the Batmobile.
  14. She was on my last nerve the first time she spoke.
  15. The three listed were considered for the film at one time or another. People need some glasses up in this thread.
  16. The lengths they go to to avoid putting him in the costume never cease to amaze me.
  17. Goddammit Smallville. I know you're terrible, but you keep pulling me back in with all your Fourth World business.
