  1. Sorry, didn't mean to offend. I thought the smiley made it clear I was joking.
  2. What do you mean you can't tell? I thought you had a summer home there.
  3. Top Shelf is having their huge annual sale. The biggest steal is probably the $75 Surrogates Owner's Manual HC for $10 (which I just bought).
  4. Little Caesar (1930) - The original gangster film. Edward G. Robinson's breakout performance as the eponymous gangster created the definitive image of the Depression Era gangster. Singin' In The Rain (1952) - I'm not a big fan of musicals, but I can't help enjoying this film. Days after watching it, I found the songs going through my head. I don't think anyone can watch it and not smile at least once. What pushes it over the top isn't only its film within a film narrative structure, but its self-awareness of being a film within a film. Much of this self-awareness comes from the character of Cosmo, who is not so much a character as he is a source of meta jokes and one liners. Even if you aren't a fan of musicals, this one is well worth watching. Bonnie and Clyde (1967) - A brilliant film; the way it balances violence, romance, and humor is masterful. The final scene is a classic. Great performances by Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway as the title characters, along with Gene Wilder in his film debut. It's a landmark film that launched the "New Hollywood" era, which pushed the envelope in terms of sex and violence in Hollywood films. If you have an interest in film, this is a must watch. The Fountain (2006) - A sixteenth century conquistador searches for a tree that grants eternal life. A man in modern day searches for a cure to his wife's cancer. An astronaut in the future travels to a dying star. The connections between these three quests are made clear as the film progresses and the end result is a beautifully shot, satisfying sci-fi drama.
  5. Yeah, the Loeb/Sale special got an eyebrow raise from me when it was announced. Don't blame you guys for nixing it. I read the first issue of Old Man Logan and said to myself, "I bet this'll be awesome in trade." Never bought the trade. I'll probably look for it at a con for half off sometime for some aspects of the story and the art. I read volumes 1, 3, and 4 of Sandman a couple years ago and remember liking them. I actually went in wanting not to like them due to the crazy amounts of praise Gaiman gets, but, to my surprise, I ended up enjoying them (and 1602 too). As far as Season of Mists goes, I know it gets praised as one of the best stories in Sandman, but I can't really remember it. I'm not a fan of Kelly Jones' Batman either, but I'd say he's a good fit for Sandman. I'll probably go back and read the entire series at some point. And actually, I'd like to hear you guys cover Volume 3 down the line. It was my favorite volume out of the three I read, maybe it will be the one to click with Mike. Glad to have the "Waiting For The Trade" segment back.
  6. and "Toland Gonna Toll."
  7. "Ha! You guys thought we were screwing with you before? You have no idea."
  8. If you're watching Vampire Diaries, tell me at least you're watching Supernatural.
  9. Brave and The Bold will start airing again in the states on September 17th with the aforementioned Starro episode.
  10. Yeah, from what I've read about it, the characters are basically mouthpieces for Joe Quesada. Can't say I'm surprised. I'm glad I'm not invested in Spider-Man anymore. Two years ago I would be cursing up a storm; now all I can do is chuckle.
  11. Sounds like it'd be just like dating a Dark City fan.
  12. If it had Matt Smith saying "cookies are cool" when you opened the lid, I'd buy one.

This is officially the coolest feature on the internet.
  14. Just bought Insomnia (2002) and The Prestige.
  15. Ah, I remember the Two Towers game. I would play as Legolas and fill orcs with arrows. That's what Batman needs in Arkham Asylum 2: fire arrows.
