  1. Nobody in their right mind would read the script to Furry Vengeance and think, "Wow, that sounds like a fun movie to make."
  2. Happy Birthday Suavestar! I was going to get a woman to jump out of your cake, but I can't seem to get this mummy to come back to life. Hope you have a good one!
  3. That would have been a valid POV before Furry Vengeance.
  4. Amy's Choice better get nominated for next year's.
  5. Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1920) - Very good silent horror film, John Barrymore really comes alive as Hyde. The Hyde makeup isn't complex, but it's effective for the time period. Vampyr (1932) - This is a tale of two cities. The visuals, atmosphere, and camerawork are brilliant, but the story and characters are relatively simple. It could be justified due to the silent film style the director was going for, but I've seen silent films with more characterization. A little disappointing in that aspect, but still well worth watching.
  6. Just pre-ordered The Complete Metropolis. Can't wait to watch it.
  7. If you're talking about Batman #700, I don't think that matters, since it takes place in a possible future. Also, I think there are a number of story possibilities with who his mentor is in that possible future.
  8. The Batman Beyond mini-series sounds like exactly what they tried to avoid with the cartoon. Loved the bit in Batman #700 though.
  9. Mike, would you mind spoiler tabbing why you don't like the plan for Batman after Bruce returns? Just curious.
  10. I hated that change too. Even though it was independently made, it felt like a "hollywoodization" of the source material. I think Kick-Ass is alright. The problem with it is that Hit-Girl and Big Daddy are far more interesting than the title character. While I liked Kick-Ass, I probably would have loved a film about those two. Hit-Girl is easily the best part of the film and I'm more keen to watch the remake of Let The Right One In now based on the actress' performance.
  11. Now that I think about it, Morrison's Batman run would make for a rather badass video game.
  12. Yeah, Austen, you're fired. Your severence package in a ham sandwich. You should receive it in 6-8 weeks. Seriously Suave, you need to do a podcast where you review classic and fan favorite films.
  13. Most definitely a "why isn't this in my longbox!?" no.
