I've got a number of accents up my sleeve from my acting days. I can do English (Upper class, middle class, working class, and cockney), Irish, Scottish, French, German, Russian, Australian, New York, Hippie, Yiddish, Italian, Midwest, Swedish, and Southern accents. Take your pick Des.

Redoubt twice erupted again this morning. The wind is pushing the ash to the Kenai Peninsula (Anchorage is very close to that area), but it is likely not going to bring any ash to Anchorage.

My Internet is back up and running, but how long is anyone's guess. No ash fall over Anchorage yet, but the wind has shifted...

She's still alive as well.

Hey everybody, Just found an Internet connection here at school and I am taking advantage of it since I do not know when my home Internet connection will be restored. First of all I am perfectly fine. The wind has blown the ash north and west of Anchorage, but we are expecting a shift in the wind later tonight so ash may still cover Anchorage. If this occurs, I do not where or when I will be able to find another Internet connection. But be assured that I am alive, well, and carrying on in my everyday routine of work, school, and work.

I have had it! I just got home from work and checked my e-mail. Guess what was in my inbox: a message from my supervisor informing me about work that I need to do. I have a work e-mail for the express purpose of talking about work. This is my PERSONAL e-mail address and she is e-mailing me about work. I'm off the clock and she is off clock and she is e-mailing me about work! I don't know about the rest of you, but when I clock off, I'm not being paid to do work nor do I want to do work because I've put in my eight hours (some days more). I'm sure it was an accident, but that really pissed me off to see that when I've been at work all day and been home for barely 5 minutes and trying to relax.

To add to Preston's and Mike's comments: In the Batman Beyond time, we have seen that they have advanced joint replacement technology (See April Moon). Bruce might have had joint replacement surgery sometime between the flashback sequences of Return of The Joker and the present scenes of Return of The Joker. Maybe after the fight with the original Joker, he had surgery to fix the damage (with Leslie Tompkins's help) using today's surgical technology. As the years go by, there's medical advancements and Bruce takes advantage of those advancements in order to continue his crime fighting crusade. By the time of Rebirth and his retirement, Bruce has the latest in joint replacement technology (again see April Moon). The years after his retirement and the coming of Terry as Batman, he has not gone back to the doctor to maintain his joint, because he no longer has a reason to try and continue to take care of himself as well as he used to (having believed he failed in his mission), hence why he has a limp and a cane. Something I noticed while watching Batman Beyond was that Bruce's limp became less pronounced over the course of the series, which lead me to believe that because Batman is back thanks to Terry, Bruce had a reason to start taking better care of himself again so that he will be around as long as he can to guide Terry. But because he had ignored his health for so long, there was some permanent damage done to his joint that cannot be corrected, hence why he still has a limp and the need for his trusty cane.

I think the moment I first realized I was a geek was in the fifth grade, which is about when I started doing theatre. I had gone to my director's office, to ask him a question and I saw an action figure of the Silver Age Green Arrow sitting on his desk. I asked him who that was and he told me. From there it led to an hour long discussion about comic books and superheroes. When I turned thirteen, my interests shifted away from superheroes. In fact I shifted away from many things that I loved. I retreated into myself until I was about seventeen, which is when I saw my first Justice League DVD: Secret Origin. Shortly thereafter, I bought The Brave and The Bold DVD. And that was all she wrote, as they say. I began collecting Silver Age comics and DCAU DVD sets, when I stumbled upon a podcast called World's Finest. I was hooked immediately and through that podcast and Earth-2.net, my inner geek, which I had buried away deep inside, broke loose again and I have had no regrets. Letting my inner geek loose has helped me to find some of the best friends I could ask for and a guy who loves me because I am me. Happy Fifth Anniversary Earth-2.net! Let the good times keep on rolling!

I'm still alive and kicking. Nicole is as well. Besides I have a big trip coming up and no volcano is standing in my way.

I bet ice is cheap. Not so much ice, but snow. We just got a fresh blanket. Everything looks very pretty...until they plow the streets then it looks all dirty from the sand on the streets.

Try living in Alaska. Everything costs more.

The BMI says that I am overweight and I am all of 110lbs. Ignore it. It is one of the most idiotic tables ever invented. It is outdated and does nothing but tell perfectly health people that they need to lose more weight.

I hope they're chest waders. We're venturing into some deep waters.

I think he finds it lack-luster more for the dialogue than anything else. He did love the adventures the Superfriends go on, but he keeps asking me why Superman keeps saying things like "I've got to stop it!" (in reference to the meteors he was fighting at the time). My cousin would turn to me and ask "Why doesn't Superman just hit the rock, instead of telling us he's going to?" I had no answer for him except that that was how cartoons were made back then. I'm just happy he's watching a Batman cartoon and that's what matters.

Usually no more than a day or so, unless we get a huge gust of wind, then we're in business for ourselves. It all really depends on which way the wind shifts. The latest volcano report is that the steam vent that has been huffing and puffing is now the length of a football field. For those who what constant updates, here is the link to the Alaska Volcano Observatory: http://www.avo.alaska.edu/ Funny thing is, I know volcanoes have erupt in my lifetime up here, but this is the first one I am well and truly aware of. The other two times were in 1989 with Mt. Redoubt (I was two) and 1992 with Mt. Spurr (I was five). At least those were eruptions that covered Anchorage in ash (I still have ash from Mt. Spurr that I collected out of my backyard stashed somewhere).

We are all prepared, so I go about my everyday routine of going to work, going to school, going back to work, then home. I will continue to do so until the eruption at which point schools will be closed and I won't go to work until the ash is done falling and has settled. As a precaution, I carry a dust mask around with me in case the eruption occurs during the day while I am at work or school. My entire family each carries one around, my dad because he has asthma and my mom and I because of the nature of the work we do (health care and environmental sciences respectively). Of course my fall back plan in case Mt. Redoubt erupts follows this very simple philosophy: When in danger or in doubt, Run around in circles and, Scream and shout. I happen to like my primary plan the best though.

It is no longer a question of if Redoubt will erupt, it's a question of when. The other two volcanoes are in the same area as Redoubt, so they're kind of close. I can't see them across the inlet on a clear day, but their still close.

Okay I promised to keep everyone up to date and I have an update. Mt. Redoubt has NOT erupted yet, but the Alaska Volcano Observatory (AVO) has put out an advisory warning on two more volcanoes that are showing signs of unrest: Mt. Cleveland and Mt. Shishaldin. They are not showing signs of erupting very soon like Redoubt, but it is likely they could in the coming weeks and months. I'll keep you posted.
