  1. Quick question because I am lazy- Can you still be Cervantes?

Yes!!! Cervantes is easily my best person. I had heard that he was nerfed, with most of his good moves being harder to execute, but he seems almost exactly the same. What sucks, though is his selection of weapons, none of his are that great.

  2. Yeah, I was disappointed by Tira. You think she could do something better with a giant bladed hoop instead of using like every other sword. Still, I think the godliness of Zasalamel and Setsuka make up for it. Oh, I noticed that too about Seigfried. Awesome.

Since I've heard a lot of hate for the difficult AI, I need to say that I, personally, like the higher difficulty of the game. At first, it was extremely frustrating to have my ass kicked by Abyss about ten times with Mina before I finally beat him. However, I think it helped my playing immensely. Since, instead of letting you hack your way through story mode with ease, like SCII did, you have to learn how to duck, block, guard impact, and utilize the 8-way run effectively, or you'll find yourself hacked to bits or thrown of a cliff. Honestly, I think I'm already better with SCIII than I was with the previous game; maybe it's also because Antonio and I are hyper-competitive twits always needing to best one another. Either way, I honestly don't think the AI is a determent to the game.

  3. I bought into the hype, and wish I hadn't. SCII was great, but this I can't stand.

Say what?! Yeah, it failed to live up the the ENORMOUS amount of hype around it, but it's still a good/great game. Have you been playing much VS mode, because that's where the real fun is.

  4. Right now I'm making my way through Chronicles of the Sword in Soul Cali III. I like the create-a-fighter a lot, but the jobs are only so-so. The only real good ones seem like assassin (I realllllly like the wave blades) and pirate. Things like Barbarian (Nightmare) and Ninja (Taki) are too close to the real characters for my liking.

Oh, and coming from the GC version of SC II, the controls for the PS2 were just AWFUL for me. So, I changed the control setup to be exactly, button for button, like Virtua Fighter 4 and it's proven to be a lot easier.

  5. Look what I just got today via e-mail...

Hello, this is Ticketmaster Customer Service with an important alert for your upcoming event.  The Video Games Live Tour, scheduled at The Palace Theatre on Sunday, November 13th, 2005 has been cancelled.

FUUUUCKKKK!!!! :grumble: I'm quite miffed about this. I'll look deeper into why they would cancel, but it better be, like, half the orchestra died in a tragic minature golf accident or something of that sort. Gah!

  6. Hmmm... I'll need to get Ratchet: Deadlocked, Soul Calibur 3, and Castlevania DS first. I'll probably wait it out 'till Christmas to get Shadow of Colossus.

On topic: Got Sly 3: Band of Thieves and its shaping up to be pretty good. It's gone back to a bit more platforming and focusing less on one big heist. Don't get me wrong, all the levels so far have one big objective, but it isn't always stealing something.

  7. Square-Enix + Mario + Basketball???

    Does not compute.

Seriously, does Square have any experience with any sports games ever? Blitzball? Then again, with a new take on the genre, for all we know, they could make the most fresh, innovative, and fun sports game ever. I'll probably remain a skeptic, though, until more details are released.

  8. Oh my God! James, your "clichés" piece is hands down the greatest thing Earth-2 has ever published................................. ................................. ................................. ................................. Ever! [/Mr. Kennedy]

  9. I definatly can't wait.  I think side scrollers are great, especially Metroid and Castlevania games.  They are starting to die out, with the handheld systems starting to go to 3-D enviroments.  So I'll be getting this one right after school tomorrow, and hopefully it wont be the last.

No kiddin'. I really hope that a new 2-D Metroid game is going to come along for the DS, instead of keeping with the cruddy "Hunters" type of play. I'd be a damn shame for these series, which despite remaining in two dimensions, have remained fresh, brilliant games, were to die out.

Yeah, after getting the newest EGM, I've decided to pick up this incarnation of Castlevania in the near future.

  10. Well, since I've seen nothing but glowing reviews for the handheld Castlevania games, you think I would hahve picked up one of them by now. Maybe I'll give this one a try, I'd be nice to have something more than my "Advance Wars machine."

I have a question for the veterans of the series, though, would I have trouble picking up storyline at all, or are they serve as stand-alone games?

  11. How hard is it to make room on the schedule for one episode a week. Is Zatch Bell that good? What about the abysmal Transformers Cybertron.

There IS room, which really pisses me off. They have the same Naruto episode on twice within the span of an hour. It would be so easy to just kick one and stick in new episodes of JLU.

What's this, logic? Begone foul demon!

  12. Nothing can touch the greatness of the original, the ones after that were just "meh." Sorry, but adding an extra 100 pokemon in every incarnation just confused the hell out of me, I couldn't keep all of them straight.
