  1. Just picked up a used DS and Kirby: Canvas Curse. Pretty nifty game, I really like how the touch pad is used, feels very easy and natural to control with it. I NEED to pick up Advance Wars: DS in the next week.
  2. Well, I was raised on RPGs. Never played any other genre regularly intill we got a PS1. Hell, I played Might and Magic III when I was, like, six. Still, they were all for the PC, so I never really warmed up to console RPGs. The first one I ever bought was FFIX. Absolutely brilliant game, played it night and day, and was astounded I was still on only disk one. I got stuck though, after about a month's hard work, on the Air Elemental on disk four, in f--king Memoria! He kept on burning my entire party, and none of my people had Body Temp, so I was fucked. Just about a month ago, I started over again and am currently conquering Memoria. I've played through the first disk of FFVIII and found it kind of boring. Never played FFVII... heh. FFX is one of my favorite games of all time, it's nearly perfect. The linear-ity of it doesn't bother me at all, the airship at the end is good enough. The graphics and voice acting really bringthe characters to life, even moreso than past games. The see and hear their emotion immerses you deeper into the game. Also, the combat of FFX is easily the best (at least of the PlayStation ones). I HATE ATB. Hate it sooooo much. With FFX, between the ability to switch out characters and that list of turns at the top of the screen, you're able to plan out every battle like a chess match. I remember the battle against Jecht played out as an hour-long ordeal of strategy. Oh, and Blitzball fucking rules, all those who hate on it just suck.
  3. Yep, I have it, and it's addicting as hell. Playing right now: Final Fantasy 9, on the last disk nearing the end, though.
  4. I need a new wallpaper for my upstairs (old) computer, the Ace Combat 5 one that I have is getting old. How 'bout an Iceman wallpaper?
  5. $100??? No one in their right mind would by one of these. Maybe if it was anywhere under $70... I'm sure there are the stupid few who will waste their money on this, but I can't expect it to sell, like, at all, with the SP still being cheaper.
  6. Saw all three parts again yesterday. It kinda bothered me to see Slade so weak/undead, but at least it's good to know he's back to his normal self. It would have been great if he would have kept that awesome weapon, shame he threw it at Trigon.
  7. From 1up From EGM Who else is psyched for this game? It's going to be the main reason I'm buying a DS. It's great that they're finally adding more unit types; I was kinda put off that the only new unit was Neotank in AW2. The CO experience idea sounds good, adding more customization to the COs can only be a good thing (especially if I can make Grit more badass). But I don't know what to think yet of the dual front idea, having something randomly blast my troops from the sky sounds like it would get real annoying, fast. Perhaps It'll just add extra incentive to end it quickly, we'll see.
  8. Having only played a demo for the PS2, I'd buy it once I get my hands on a DS.
  9. Having been reminded of Ace Combat 5, I've been working to beat the game again, this time on ACE difficulty. Oh, and I bought FF I&II and Warioware Twisted for the GBA. Both shaping up to be pretty good.
  10. Just saw Part III of III of "The End" and it was bloody awesome. SPIZOILERS?: The Slade bits were pure gold, like, after Trigon betrays Slade, one of Trigon's minions says "You cannot defeat pure evil." Slade just responds, "You know, I'm not such a nice guy, myself," and blows a detinator right behind the thing. Afterwards you just see a singed helmet of the minion, and Slade pick up its Flaming Axe of DOOM and says "Don't bother getting up. I'll let myself out." Later, he cuts off Trigon's horns with the Flaming Axe of DOOM, after all, "he's no one's servant." He's back and kicking more ass than ever. Slade fucking rules.
  11. Two excellent choices (especially AC5). I've currently played a bunch of LAN StarCraft and Unreal since I've been at camp for the past two weeks. Its great fun, but Im ready to get back to Guild Wars, Virtua Fighter 4, and Halo 2.
  12. Oh, heh, thought thouse were the nominees... have to read, Pablo... Gran Turismo 4 Jade Empire Guild Wars Resident Evil 4 Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones Wario Ware Twisted! Kirby Canvas Curse God of War Psychonauts WipEout Pure
  13. Guild Wars!!! ... ahem... yeah, list looks good.
  14. Bingo, thank god I'm not the only one who thinks that. I probably won't see the Simpsons movie, just don't care for it recently, haven't watched new episodes in a long time.
  15. I've been hooked on Guild Wars recently, trying to get through the PvE game, Building up the GUILD, and becoming experienced in PvP. Other than that, I've been playing more GT4 and Halo 2.
  16. Yoda, hell, he wouldn't have to use a sabre and he could finish Maul in a millisecond.
  17. Sent 'em. Will we get the 'privilege' of writing about our top picks?
  18. Oh, and what about remakes of games, like Metroid/Metroid Zero Mission? Are they going to be considered the same thing? Since, I've played Zero Mission but not the original.
  19. I got a few questions... 1. PC games too, right? 2. What about sequels of things like sports games, if one person says Madden 01, another person says Madden 02, and yet another goes with 04, will the vote remain split? 3. I don't suppose anyone on these boards have played Might and Magic anything?
  20. YES!!! Hell, I've been creating my list for the past few days already...
  21. Hmmm... that looks very fake to me.
