Just downloaded the new Linkin Park Song, New Divide. I'm digging it. Also listening to Dream Warriors-Doken.
  4. And to be fair, I doubt it will go the Anastasia route of rewriting history so that tolerance is wide-spread and the south is a land of awesome for minorities at this time period. You can get away with it with imperialist Russia, not so much with your own culture.
  5. As much as I love Pixar, they ruined animation for me. Traditional animation has so much more charm than a pixil in my eyes so I will be giving this movie a try. If worst comes to worst, it still has to be better than Atlantis.
  6. Just caught up to this episode and Holy Crap, I didn't even think anything of the "He'll knock four times" line in Planet of the Dead. Wow, really looking forward to November now.
  7. It's in route 2, I think the house that has the kid who will trade you for Mr. Mime. You just have to have caught like 10 pokemon. It's useless so put it on a pokemon you'll just use for the cave.
  8. Just read The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. Just started Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. I am completely baffled by how seamlessly the original text and the zombie parts blend together.
  9. It gets better after the first season. It's like the first season of The Simpsons, utterly forgettable. Outside of "Fry and the Slurm Factory", I can barely remember any of the Season 1. Now, seasons 2-4, I can quote like mad. I got the Bureaucrat song stuck in my head now. Damnit!

Stan Bush took his song from the 80's Transformers movie, and covered it and made this music video. It's kinda meh.

I've said it once, I'll say it again: "Gail Simone should write the next big DC crossover."
  12. Likewise, watch The Sarah Jane Adventures Season 1 and Torchwood Season 2 before getting to the last three episodes of Series 4.
  13. I play video games sporadically. I'll play a game for a long burst then it peters out for a bit until it pick back up again.
  14. As a writer/editor (both an editorial reader and a copy editor), one of my "minor annoyances" is when people pick on writing in text, but don't render their complaint in a clean, professional way, making themselves look petty/hypocritical and making me feel embarrassed for them. So, I'm debating if this is major enough to go with the big stuff, but I figure it's small overall, so here goes: I'm taking a fiction writing class and part of it includes workshopping each other's stories. One of the stories that I've had to read for tomorrow read as if Left Behind, Twilight, and the Sweet Valley High series had a baby, which was then butchered, tossed into a blender, and then served to someone straight out of Pauly Shore's mouth. It read like a third grade book report, and the main character committed murder, then suicide, at the end for no reason. The story Fry writes in which to trap the Big Brain in an episode of Futurama seemed more intelligent. This isn't even counting that the writer couldn't decide on tense, point of view, and had a murder/suicide at the end, for no reason. I have a headache and kind of want to look the kid in the eye and ask, "Have you considered going into business?" That said: A MAJOR annoyance of mine (but it'll stay here because, well, it fits) is that EVERYONE thinks they are a writer. EV. ER. Y. ONE. dc20, I do not envy your being in that class. You are in my thoughts. Sorry about that. I take fault for it. I'm normally a bit of a grammar nerd as well though I was so irate last night that I decided to ignore it in favor of putting my thoughts out before I decided to write a nasty e-mail to the writer of the story. That all said, I skipped the class today so I wouldn't say something too mean to the kid. I'm sure other people were able to give him more constructive feedback.

Mystery Dues Ex Machina sums up quite a few anime. I am already coming up with a story idea for Mystery Anagnorisis
  16. So, debating if this is major enough to go in the big stuff but I figure it's small over all but here goes. I'm taking a short fiction writing class and part of it is we have to workshop each others stories that we write. One of the stories that I had to read for tomorrow read like if Left Behind, Twilight, and the Sweet Valley High series has a baby which was then butchered with a chopping knife, tossed in a blender, and than served straight out Pauly Shore's mouth. It read like a third grade book report and the main character committed murder suicide for no reason at the end. Fry's story that he traps the Big Brain in in Futurama seemed more intelligent. 17. Which is sad since, you know, one year and all. Aniversery's aren't supposed to be this disappointing.
  18. I guess that's the advantage of growing up with it being the weird show on PBS that came on before Ghostwriter on Sundays. It wasn't part of my national tradition or anything like that. It was just the show with guy with the awesome scarf and the scary robots (Daleks scared me as a kid).
  19. So, I was going to transfer my Xbox live id to another XBox but then I realize I forgot the password. I go to the compy to recover it and, turns out, the Windows Live ID has expired, can't be recovered, and my Tag is therefore stuck on my roomy's hard drive. I can either keep using his hard drive or I can start a new ID and then have to start over with my points, not that I have that many but now I have to start over on everything.

The Greatest Show Unearthed- Creature Feature and I am strongly considering buying the album now if I don't pick up the new Utada cd instead.
  21. I feel your pain. My upstairs neighbors are, quite possibly, running a brothel. I don't know but most nights we have to complain about the rhythmic banging on the ceiling above us.
  22. Wow, that's mean. I'm nominating you for a People's Choice Award!
  23. Read the Gay Agenda article. I agree, the show may have a so called "Gay Agenda" but it's nothing out of the ordinary. It's the 21st century, big whoop. Having gay characters is completely normal, it's not as if no one before 1950 was gay. Besides, it's Captain Jack. Who wouldn't want him? I envy being in your shoes again. Season 4 is my favorite season overall. Catherine Tate's Donna Noble really grows as a character. She's a lot less shrill and, to tell you the truth, my favorite companion of the new series, mainly because she's not going to fall in love with the Doctor like Rose or Martha. Won't say any more so as not to spoil it for you but it really is a terrific season. I do recommend watching the first season of The Sarah Jane Adventures and second season of Torchwood first since both have slight spoilers later on during the season.
