  1. Well done guys, as always.

The 5 people dead thing has always been the one thing that no one I know can figure it out, and someone told me that Nolan intentionally kept that vague which is a bit of a cheat admittedly. In terms of the scoring, I do enjoy BB a bit more than this because it is more accessable and it feels more like Batman. At the same time the quality of the storytelling and the iconic performances do make this a better film in my opinion.

  2. Ian's "F U" dream sequence at the beginning made me cry of laughter.

I was pleasently surprised you guys both listed Static Shock relatively high. :buttrock:

*EDIT* I'm still listening, and this is going by very fast. An hour and a half left!

  3. First TT episode I've downloaded and...

I gotta say, I'm a big Street Fighter fan and Chun Li is my favorite character aside from Ryu. So I obviously avoided this movie like the Clench. But hearing you guys bent over and taking it...especially Damien. I gotta thank you three for suffering so I didn't have too.

And the line "I don't care if Chelsea Handler blew you in the back of a bar, you're not someone special!" may be the best podcast quote of 2011 to date.

    Bravo.

  4. Maybe not perfect, but good.

I never thought Bane was subject to the curse of Batman and Robin the way that Mr. Freeze was.

I keep thinking back to how James, Mike and Ian said in their Batman and Robin review how Bane was now radioactive. Nolan now plans to resurrect the guy in the minds of mainstream audiences.

  5. On the whole Mercy thing, Lex obviously wasn't letting on his douchebaggery out and out to anyone but with people in Cadmus. She didn't seem overly happy to work for him again, but I honestly believe she thought he had turned around. So she was working for him yes, but to her perspective he wasn't doing anything wrong.

  6. Oh this is going to suck. I'm not a fan pf the revamped Geoff Johns Raven, because that to me seems to go too far away from her character established in the Wolfman/Perez days. This will blow chucks because it's the CW. High school, **** drama, pretty white people with problems. **** this.

  7. Shake and Blake is an awesome name, I have to say that.

Many thanks! That was one of the hardest things to decide upon.

In that Frank Millar used to be quite good and now isn't, when exactly did he jump the shark?

Sin City was the last great thing he wrote, Dark Knight Strikes Again was the point where he tipped over into suck. Well, not exactly suck exactly but it was the point where his constant self-indulgence really harmed the story.

Agreed. DKSA was in '01, ans it's abysmal. Sin City was where I think he broke, but that type of insanity really worked well for the story. It did NOT for Dark Knight Strikes Again.

Cool episode, althought I think Mazuchelli's art was better in Born Agin compared to Year One. Just a difference of opinion, but I found it much cleaner and dynamic. Totally agree about the end of Born Again though, it did derail after Cap shows up. But until then and even after it's still brilliantly written.

  8. Koete didn't leave much to mention, but

I thought it was a nice reference to Azreal that Damien Wayne Batman wore the Azbat's outfit. Granted it's not as cool as his awesome trenchcoat costume from Morrison's run, but it was still a nice reference.

That wasn't AzBats, that was an Elseworlds future Batman costume.

Also, the in-joke with Damien's sidekick/son was that he was voiced by Dederich Bader's son.

  9. Couple of thoughts on Initiation.

I haven't seen a primary source, but I've heard on several occasions that "For The Man Who Has Everything" is the one and only adaptation of his work that Alan Moore has thought well done.

    Chris

Bruce Timm asked his permission to do it, and Moore responded encouragingly, saying he'd be interested in how they interpret it. But Timm said he never got a response from Moore back after the episode premiered.
