  1. Finished the first part of the Big Finish Doctor Who audio story Blood of the Daleks. Paul McGann and Sheridan Smith really caught my ear with what I heard of The Cannibalists, so naturally I had to get my hands on more. It is very very good, those two have so much chemistry together.

  2. Continuing with my family on our Stargate run. SG-1 hit a slump in season eight and Atlantis season one was decent. And now the quality has just gone through the roof, and every episode just gets better and better. An episode of Stargate with Jaime Ray Newman? OH YES. An episode with David Hewlett playing Jaime Ray Newman? OH HECK YES. :buttrock:

  3. Casting info on episode three.

Smallville Episode #10.3 Casting Revealed: Desaad & Gordon Godfrey!

KryptonSite has gotten confirmation of two actors appearing as DC Universe characters in the third episode of Smallville Season 10, which features the return of Laura Vandervoort and is called "Supergirl."

Steve Byers will be playing Desaad, a character who was introduced way back in May 1971's Forever People #2 by the legendary Jack Kirby. Desaad is a follower of Darkseid, and we imagine it will be that way for him on Smallville as well. Byers' previous credits include Falcon Beach.

Michael Daingerfield will be playing the role of Gordon Godfrey, another Darkseid-related character who once took a more Earth-bound form where he led a hate campaign against superhumans. Daingerfield's previous credits include the Catwoman movie as well as the Smallville episode "Shattered" where he played an assassin.

  4. Just finished Watchmen, pretty good translation to movie overall. I think they must've spent half their budget on licensed songs, really, more than half the soundtrack must be made up of licensed songs, and then the other half of the score is pretty crap. Also, make-up? Really bad make-up jobs all around especially on older characters.

And on the plot change. I really have to call BS on it, if a known US super-weapon were to have wiped out almost every primary city in the world the instant reaction would be the complete eradication of the USA, I don't care that NY and LA were hit, most governments would think that they would be that crazy as to mulch their own cities to pretend like they didn't do it.

    7/10

  5. Oh, I'd forgotten to say, Netflix recently put Lois & Clark: TNAoS on instant view. I've been quite enjoying the series so far, though a bit of a rough start. Dean Cain took me a few episodes to settle into and I'm still a little iffy on Lois sometimes, but I guess that's because this is pre-S:TAS Lois. The person who sold me instantly though was John Shea, I have to say it, best Lex ever. This guy is so awesome in the role it's not even funny, he's everything Lex Luthor should be and more. And he has hair while he's doing it! While the character writing is pretty well done, there's not much good to be found when looking at episode plots and villains, and I've done something I don't think I've ever done in series viewing before, I stopped an episode mid-way and went to the next one(Smart Kids, ulgh).

I have to geek out about a scene real quick here, it's the one that sold me on Dean Cain.

It's episode three I believe, Clark finds out that Luthor has been putting him through 'trials' in order to test Superman's abilities. Clark barges into Luthor's office, asks him "You wanna know how strong I am Luthor?" and he pulls a sword from the wall and bends it, okay. "You wanna know how fast I am?" Clark looks down and opens a wooden case, at first I can't tell what's inside, then he pulls it out. Superman points a gun at Lex, and fires it at him! He then proceeds to catch the bullet, pinch it flat, and hand it to Lex.

    Best. Superman. Moment. Ever.
