Dan
... wow. I had somehow managed to clear the memory of the ponytail and the Bat-gauntlets from my memory.

Missy
To be honest, I kinda dig the Batman-like gauntlets. They make sense as weapons. That said, they probably should have been one piece, like bladed fins.
Dan
We can agree Wundarr sucks, though.

Missy
Why were they trying to put this guy over?
Dan
At this point, Steve Gerber was pushing him because he was a new creation of Steve Gerber. Why they tried again a few years later, no idea.
Molly
Because someone thought "Idiot Man-Child Hippy Superman" was an awesome idea. In related news, drugs are awesome.
Dan
Actually, according to Sean Howe's Marvel Comics history (which you should read if you haven't already), while Gerber was part of the scene with Steve Englehart, Jim Starlin, Frank Brunner, and Tom Orzechowski, who were all incredibly drug-fueled and brought that sensibility to all their books, Gerber himself was teetotal. He was just a very strange guy.
Molly
Well, I'll be damned.
Dan
No kidding. The mind that brought you Howard the Duck and Omega the Unknown was like that all the time.

Dan
It really is. I can't recommend it enough. It's actually kind of a sad read; the myth of the Bullpen is utterly destroyed, and a lot of creators were treated very, very poorly for a very long time. But it's fascinating reading. Stavros
Why do I now think that the Bat Credit Cards PIN number is 2286
Rjoyadet
... wow. I had somehow managed to clear the memory of the ponytail and the Bat-gauntlets from my memory. At least Namor has not tried to mimic Neymar.
