Koete
Fox is developing a New Mutants movie, to be written and directed by Josh Boone.
dc20willsave
If they have Warlock, I will automatically love whatever they do forever.
Dread
Josh Boone's instagram posts artwork possibly revealing his line-up: Magik, Mirage, Wolfsbane, Cannonball, Sunspot and Warlock.
dc20willsave
I would be super okay with that group. It's the most iconic line-up (Karma left early, Magma was always just there, I love Doug but he would be hard to translate [heh]). Anyone want to lay bets that they're already trying to get Andy Serkis for Warlock?
Molly
Maisie Williams has been publicly angling for Wolfsbane, which would be awesome.
dc20willsave
Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber (The Fault in Our Stars) are writing the screenplay.
Dread
I went from being very ambivalent about any Marvel property movie until I saw the animatic. Spoils who the villain is.Confirmed: Magik (w/ Lockheed), Wolfsbane, Mirage and Cannonball AND Demon Bear.
dc20willsave
Ana Taylor-Joy (The Witch) and Maisie Williams have officially been cast as Magik and Wolfsbane respectively.

Missy
Mixed bag. Some of the horror looks good, but other aspects are a little too generic. But, as a first trailer, it has my interest.
Molly
I'm confused as to the subject matter, but I'm very interested in the cast and concept. (Arya Fucking Stark).
Venneh
Demon Bear.
Dread
Weird that Reyes is the villain, but I'm stoked on it. I mean, it's a little weird we have a movie trailer for a superhero movie featuring five notable superpowered characters from a major franchise (and at least one more lesser notable one) and the trailer doesn't show any of them explicitly using their powers. JackFetch
So they pushed it back to 2019 and are re-shooting more than 50% of it. The cover story is that they want to change it to full horror due to the success of It. The word on the street is that the screenings were terrible. Spoiler They have also added Antonio Banderas as a villain for the post credit scene. The Director wanted to bring in Jon Hamm as Mr. Sinister but the studio said no. Missy
If rumors are to be believed, it's been pushed back again. This time from August 2 to October or November. And it might just go straight-to-Hulu. At this point, I kinda feel bad for the cast and crew.
dc20willsave
Ditto. That all said, an October release always seemed like the best option for the film. Hell, nothing is even scheduled for Halloween Weekend this year. If you're going to push a horror movie back, at least push it back to a time it'll make some bank. JackFetch
Hollywood needs to learn how to cut their losses earlier instead of trying to fix a dead project. They aren't going to make their money back.
Missy
There are rumors floating around that Dark Phoenix is going to be one of the biggest cinematic disasters. It's a shame that a franchise that helped redefine the comic book movie is projected to go out so poorly.
JackFetch
On a good note, the next time we see the X-Men it will be Marvel making the movie.
Molly
I really think Fox is afraid to go cosmic with the Mutants, especially after how bad Fantastic Four has turned out. But you can’t do Dark Pheonix and keep it earthbound. It just doesn’t work.
dc20willsave
Basically. Dark Phoenix is a story literally about a Cosmic Force possessing a young woman and eating stars that kill broccoli people. There's literally nothing grounded about it. JackFetch
They still haven't done the reshoots. I think it's dead as a theatrical release.
Missy
Wow. If this winds up in theaters I will be utterly shocked.
JackFetch
I think Fox doesn't want to put any more money into it since they are about to be bought by Disney and they just want to let them deal with it. I think Disney will be smart enough to just let it go, pun intended.
