JackFetch
Paramount is moving forward with a fourth installment in the "Beverly Hills Cop" franchise, reports Variety. Eddie Murphy is attached to reprise his role as Detroit detective Axel Foley, and Brett Ratner is negotiating to direct. The studio is aiming for a 2009 production start and a summer 2010 release. Lorenzo di Bonaventura will produce. Jerry Bruckheimer, who produced the original "Beverly Hills Cop" trilogy with late partner Don Simpson, won't be actively involved in the new film. A writer will be hired shortly. The three original films grossed $712.9 million worldwide. The last was released in 1994. http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=45513 I don't even remember the third one.
slothian
Do producers not meet with Ratner and say "....but didn't you make a bad X-Men movie?" And how many "Movie #4's" have been a patch on the original series?

annericelover
Okay, well we have had to watch all of our favorite 80's Action series be bought back to life in the new millenium. Arnold Schwarzenegger bring back The Terminator in Terminator 3: The Rise of the Machines(2003) Sylvester Stallone bring back both Rocky and Rambo in Rocky Balboa(2006)and Rambo(2008), with a Rambo V now in the works. Bruce Willis bring back John McClaine in Live Free or Die Hard(2007) Harrison Ford bring back Indiana Jones in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull(2008)with possible sequels coming soon. The Star Wars prequel trilogy as well(1999-2005) Now we got Eddie Murphy coming back to this film series(this goes along with the Richard Donner film Lethal Weapon 5 coming out soon). Aaron Robinson
I think Eddie Murphy’s swan song will be a movie where he plays every single character, from the protagonist, to the love interest, to the antagonist and all the extras.
