RSS
In this episode, Joe R. Lansdale returns to talk about genre fiction, the future of publishing, and his recent work in a great extended interview. Then Darryll joins Desmond to review one of those recent works: the animated short, DC Showcase: Jonah Hex. Tunes included: "Coattails of a Dead Man" by Tom Waits and Primus, "Death of Jonah Hex" by Ghoultown, "Train Assault" by Mastodon, and "My Body's a Zombie for You" by Dead Man's Bones. Dread
Sweet fellas. Let me know what you think. I have to get everybody back for a second interview. Those're the best ones. I'm really proud of this one.
slothian
Great interview, Des! Again, it's not my area of expertise, but any interview that can keep my attention concerning methods of writing genre fiction is doing something right! He's a very easy man to listen to. Guest
Yeah, great stuff. I can tell why you like having him on since he seems like such an easy guy to interview. I generally love anyone that talks about their own writing methods, so I could have listened to that for hours. I also get a kick out of the way he says "horror". As for plot holes that ruined good horror movies, I can only think of one on the top of my head. The big twist in High Tension killed most of its credibility for me. Way too many implausible scenarios that you're expected to forgive in the name of the character's dementia. It was like they filmed the whole movie not knowing what the twist was going to be, then decided on it at the very end.

D-Man
I would not mind doing a Ninja Scroll review. In fact, here it is: It's fucking awesome. Perhaps someday I will expound upon that. I have it on VHS. That's how I roll. Old School.
Dread
Don't you just mean "old"? Boom, roasted.
keithlatch
Desmond, Really, really loved this episode. Actually liked it so much, I listened to it twice. I'm a pushover for listening to the nuts and bolts talk of the publishing industry. Great interview.
