iTunes trouble?

It must be something with my home connection, because I was able to download the latest show quickly here at work.

No problems beside the usual iTunes problems. I'm thinking about ditching my iPod because iTunes is just horrible, and I haven't found a free app that does what it does with the podcasts. The iPod itself is great.

Okay, this is weird: when I attempted to download WFP 15 here at work, it took 15 minutes. Sure, it's a large file (67 MB), but it shouldn't take that long.

How many computers are on the network there? The network might be bogged down or having trouble. Is that the only one doing it or is another podcast(not your's) doing it also?

I'm downloading it now with no problems.

There are 19 computers on the network, but this is the first time download speed has been an issue. I mean, in the fourth post in this thread I wrote:

After checking iTunes, it appears other podcasts are dragging ass too.

That's what I get for skimming. I thought the trouble was at work. It does sound like your isp might be having problems.

The initial problem was at home, but I was able to download Earth-2.net: The Show 172 rather quickly at work. When downloading World's Finest Podcast 15 today at work, it was slow.

I'm having major problems trying to download WFP. It was at 30% and then it plummetted back to 3% (???) and now it's crawling at a snail's pace.

Yup, something is up here, because it's taking me roughly seven minutes to download files that are 30-ish MBs. Normally those would be done within 60 to 90 seconds. Everything I've tried (e.g. E2, CGS, Birds of Geek) is slooooow.

I just resubscribed and it does seem to go up and down in speed, but only slightly. Do you use a service like Cachefly? Or do they all come from one server?

All episodes of Earth-2.net: The Show are hosted on the Earth2.net server, and all episodes of WFP are on the WFP server.

WFP takes a loooong time to dl as well as E2 the show but not as long.

DM, I"ve found, just sits in the tray below the name of my podcast and I have to click "get it" before it downloads. No automatic dls for me :cry:

BUMPETY-BUMP!!

None of my Earth-2.net podcasts are updating on iTunes. I have the most recent version of Apple's media behemoth and my non-Earth-2.net podcasts are unaffected, so something happened after Dread Media 232 downloaded

This issue popped up a few weeks ago, and though it took me a few days, I seemed to have fixed it. Then, like you, it started acting up again today.

However, as of right now, it seems to have corrected itself. Try to refresh your iTunes podcast section, and please let me know what happens.

I actually thought that E-2 TS was not downloading anymore. I unsubbed then resubbed, found out 492 was the last one that was published.

Before 02.06 of DD released I had errors on iTunes for WFP, E2, TT, and DD saying that they could not be found on the server.

Since then they all seem to be fine. I already have all the WFP eps so no worries there.

Mike is right though iTunes is downloading smaller files very slow. It took 15 mins to download a different podcast I listen to a 60MB file, which was an hour and a half podcast. It should not take that damn long.

It seems there's an issue with the server, 'cause I'm having trouble connecting via the FTP. I'll check it again in a few hours to see if it's been corrected. If not, I'll contact GoDaddy.

I have been having problems off and on for the last month. Mostly will fix itself in an hour or so. This time, I haven't been able to do anything for the past two days.

After e-mails got me nowhere, I finally called GoDaddy. We think the problem has been found and corrected, but it could take 24-72 hours to verify this. Hopefully much less.
