Aaron and I recently recorded our thoughts on this film before the trailer came out today. Suffice to say that I’m more interested in it than actually excited for it and that remains the case, even if we get to see Beauxbatons.
Sounds good to me. Let's do this.
Who wants to do what? I'm most interested in covering West Side Story, either Throne of Blood or Ran (or both), and Hamlet (the 2000 Ethan Hawke version). I may be up for more but don't want to do the lion's share of the reviews a la Monty Python week.
Oooo I stand corrected. Shall we put together a Shakespeare week sometime this year? I’m thinking maybe one play per episode and maybe one devoted to the Bard himself.
Not sure if many people would be up this, but what about Shakespeare week? It could not only cover direct adaptations but also films like West Side Story, 10 Things I Hate About You, Throne of Blood, and even Shakespeare in Love and Anonymous.
West Side Story vs. The Wizard of Oz
and
West Side Story vs. Hot Fuzz
All three ultimate made my top ten, but I’m still not certain about what order to rank them in.
Gaslight or Dorian Gray for her early career and Bedknobs & Broomsticks for the main feature.
Manchurian Candidate is awesome and she’s also quite good in Nanny McPhee but I don’t remember her having all that much screentime in either.
She’s in a 1983 film adaptation of Pirates of Penzance with Kevin Kline so that might work as your latter career choice and since Pandy’s a G & S performer.
