  1. Popcon Indy 2015

A wonderful convention. Even if half of the convetion center was split with the Kiwanis club. I did notice a happy medium when younger Kiwanis members wanted to have their picture taken with Bonnie and Foxie cosplayers.

John De Lancie, Sophie Aldred and Edward James Olmos were very kind, especially De Lancie. Much to my surprise Casper Van Dien appeared a bit too full of himself. Which is why its a good thing he is playing Johnny Cage. Sam Jones was nice, but hearing his accent reminded me of why I used to confuse him with Dolph Lundgren. Spending 30 seconds with Lloyd Kaufman made me laugh harder than I have in weeks. Markiplier, Jacksepticeye and Lordminion were so patient and nice to still greet the fans after the place closed. Which is probably why the young lady in front of me started crying when Mark offered her a hug.

  2. Does anyone else find it funny that the villain claims to be the last descendant of Ghengis Khan when in reality about one in every 200 people can trace their lineage back to Khan.

I remember the first time I came across this movie my mother turned off the television when it came to phurba. It was not until a few years ago that I watched the full movie. At first I did not like it because it strayed far from the radio version. The origin story I heard never explained what he did out East but learned invisibility, how to throw his voice, read people and be able to impersonate others to the point that even close friends could not tell the two apart. That may not be the official origin story but I was able to make the connection with Darkman.

When it came to the bloody mouthed Alec Baldwin in the flashback I always pictured him vocalizing in a high pitch. But that is probably due to the music video.

  3. Today I had terrible back pain. It kept me up all night. It was so much of a menace that I had to call in sick to work. My father had a inspection clinic that he does once every year. I know it is one of the most stressful events of the year for him so I went and helped around 4:00 pm. Roughly five hours later I got home and made myself dinner. I then sat on the couch and tried not to think about everything that is weighing me down.

My mother assumed the reason why I was so down was because of the weight gain. I told her that I was depressed because I flunked my classes this semester. She made assumptions about why I flunked. Reminded me that I do not make enough money at my current job and told me I needed to get certified in something that she has done.

Now I feel stupid and fat.

  4. Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol: This is actually a really entertaining film. It's helped by the fact that it feels like a 40s serial, although the ending did drag a tad in places this time. Ultimately, a very fun flick.

    Films watched: 51

    Repeats: 1

I remember having low expectations for that movie, that shot right up when I found out Brad Bird worked on it.

  5. I completely agree with Damiens feelings that the Highlander should not be visited for at least another decade.

It's been messed up to the point that a reboot would be the best way to proceed. And I say that as someone who does not like reboots at all.

But that should not happen until the stink of the current franchise has faded.

It's a really cool concept (and I was a fan of the TV show back in the day) but the execution has been terrible.

Actually I was thinking more about current events in the world. I used to think that humans have moved to the point where beheading was seen as barbaric as sword duels. Fun fact Abraham Lincoln was challenged to a saber duel to the death on a place called bloody island, but the duel was stopped by a mutual friend. However, terrorist organizations like ISIL has shown that beheading is still around.

    on a lighter note....

The part about DZ made me nostalgic for that place. It seems like any indoor fun place has been bought out by Chuck E. Cheese and Nolan Bushnell. Discovery Zone, Showbiz Pizza, The Rock-afire explosion gang,

I wonder if Bushnell has tried to buy Freddy Fazbears Pizza and Hoo Ha's Jamboree.

  6. Metabarons by Alejandro Jodorosky and Juan Gimenez: Probably the closest thing we will ever get to Jodorowsky's Dune. Interesting world building ideas, beautiful artwork. The dialog is a bit clunky with every other word having to have Paleo in front. Still I am going to look for more.
