  1. There is an interview with Ian Lavine on the latest episode DWOwhocast, you can get it on itunes. You must hear it. Behind the scenes stories, talk about his version of Shada. He gets very worked up at times. Its more entertaining than a lot of Who episodes.

Isn't that the idiot who came up with Doctor in Distress?

Yes. and the k9 and company theme

  2. However, kind of cheeky to think Big Brother, Weakest Link and whatever that fashion show was would still be culturally relevant during that time frame, and it might be even more telling since it's been more than 5 years and I have no clue what that fashion show was supposed to be, the UK version of Queer Eye For The Straight Guy maybe?

It was called "What not to wear"

  3. Cotillard was over the top? Are you sure you don't mean Hathaway? Cotillard seemed pretty normal.

At the end of the film, she was a bit OTT. But I think some of the smaller bad guys where also. I cant remember his name, but the guy who was giving Bane his money . Hathaway as well. It just is odd to me that after the first 2 films there should be so much ham this time.

  4. whatever you might think of Boomtown In the next episode. We nearly got this:

    "Untitled storyline (Abbott)"

Written by Paul Abbott, this episode was intended for episode 11 of Series 1.[168] With Jack Harkness having joined the Ninth Doctor and Rose Tyler, Rose feels left out.[citation needed] But when they land in Pompeii in 79 AD,[citation needed] Jack discovers that Rose's life has been manipulated by the Doctor in an experiment to create the perfect companion.[168] Abbot's commitment to Shameless and other projects led to him dropping out of the episode.[168] Russell T Davies took over and wrote "Boom Town" in its place.[168]

  5. The first person to die in New Who? A guy called Wilson........ :ninja_shifty:

Good episode, chaps. I remember watching 'Rose' when it debuted during my Easter break from university and was entertained, but I missed most of the remainder of the season due to not having access to a television at uni. Still, Richard and my sister were both fans so it stayed on my radar.

Billie Piper was indeed a pop star between 97-99, but she put that on ice whilst indulging in marriage with prominent British DJ/TV presenter Chris Evans. After that ended she got small acting roles which led upto Doctor Who. Whilst major populist casting choices are annoying at the outset (also see: Catherine Tate, Kylie Minogue, Katherine Jenkins), most tend to end up doing a pretty decent job. Apart from Kylie Minogue.

Who could forget her hit single
