  1. A lot of people hate Bidmead on the classic DVD range. I love him. Yeah, he's smug and incredibly self-important. However, when he says that things had gotten FAR too silly under Graham Williams and that things needed to be put right, he isn't wrong.

And Stovepipe, while I've heard all the commentaries and don't specifically remember that exchange betwen him and Lalla, it's totally in character for both of them. Lalla is every bit as capable of being obnoxious and smug as Bidmead, so yeah, they spark off each other quite a bit when they disagree.

In the state of decay dvd. You can really see the bad feeling between Bidmead and Terrance Dicks.

The strange thing is that many of the people who hate Bidmead. Also love Andrew Cartmel. Who is just as, if not more smug and self important. The "cartmel masterplan" fans. Are really defensive of that era. But often bitch about other eras, and other doctors.

  2. the comentary for the classic who story The Leisure Hive. Christopher Bidmead is actulay quite rude about parts of the story, with the directer and Lalla Ward both with him. he is quite happy to tell them when he thinks they have done something wrong. In fact any commentary with Bidmead in it he comes across as a bit of a big headed idiot. In the castrovalva on. There is a moment when he tell eveyone to be quiet so they can hear the great lines that he wrote.

  3. anyone heard the story that in Kinda, Sanders was played by Richard Todd. An actor with over 30 years experance of stage and screen. who was in the the 1955 film of the dam busters. During the filming of the story Matthew Waterhouse took it upon himself to give Richard some acting tips.

  4. Ian also threatened to sue a guy who made a youtube video that made fun of him by doing an impression.

He also came up with the idea and wrote and produced "Doctor in Disress". Another problem is that in the uk in the 80s and 90s, anytime there was any news story or anything about doctor who. They would always interview Ian, and he would act like he spoke for all fans. He often made us all look bad.

Link: he is the guy who says he has seen every episode.
