  1. I just watched the pilot for a new show coming to NBC this Fall. If you haven't heard of it, here is the description from nbc.com:

They thought they were like everyone else... until they woke with incredible abilities. In Japan, a lowly office worker can teleport at will. In New York, a struggling artist can paint the future. In Los Angeles, a discontented beat cop can hear the thoughts of others. Elsewhere, a high school cheerleader discovers she is unbreakable and a single mom realizes she has a powerful alter ego. Heroes chronicles the lives of these people and the lives of others like them – whose destiny just might be saving humankind.

NBC.com weekly exclusives include an original, animated graphic novel that follows new hero adventures.

Despite what they say, these people don't just wake up one day and start flying and teleporting. It's a little more complicated than that. The storytelling is alot like Lost, a lot of questions, and few answers. Not to mention the fact that all of the characters are somehow connected to each other in strange and plot twisting ways.

The Japanese businesman is probably my favorite character. He's funny and original. He can affect time and space, which allows him to teleport. He explains time to his friend by quoting what he learned from the X-Men comics.

The painter can predict the future through his art. The problem is he doesn't remember painting them, and is scared by it.

The single mom pays the bills by running an online peep show in her bedroom. Her reflection has a personality of it's own.

The cheerleader is indestructable, as we see when she repeatedly tries to kill herself.

A regular guy has dreams of flying, and his politician brother doesn't want to hear it.

A professor in India belives people are on the verge of the next jump in evolution, and he follows his father's work on the subject after he is killed.

Being that it is the pilot, I can understand why it is a little slow, but I had no idea what direction the show will take, and after the end, I still don't. Is it going to be a team of superheroes fighting evil? Is it going to be more like the 4400? Even though it really doesn't answer this, the twists and turns it does take are more than enough to make it worth watching. If you are a fan of Lost, you are going to love it. If you hate Lost, it won't have enough action for you.

Check it out if you can get a copy. If not, wait until this Fall.

  2. Don Payne, who is writing the upcoming Fantastic Four sequel movie, confirmed to SCI FI Wire the previously reported news that the follow-up to the superhero hit will prominently feature the Silver Surfer, herald of the planet-devouring Galactus. "That's the worst-kept secret in town," Payne said in an interview while promoting his latest project, the superhero romantic comedy My Super Ex-Girlfriend. "The Silver Surfer will be in it. The Fantasticar will be in it. We're just trying to make it more exciting and funnier, and, you know, we're trying to top the first one."

Still no official word on whether Galactus himself will show up, but that's ok, we get the Fantasticar.

  3. Can you talk about your role in "Transformers"?

Michael Clarke Duncan: You know what and I hate to tell you this, but I am not in "Transformers". I am so mad that I have to tell you that, but something happened and we didn't get the deal done and I was really hurt about that, because my friend Michael Bay is directing and he's like to me, one of the top action directors ever. I love working on his movies. I did two movies with him, Armageddon and The Island, and he has a certain way of directing but it was something that we did not get done that I felt bad about because I watched "Transformers".

I was supposed to be the Navy Seal guy taking my team in against the Transformers. Man, that is like heaven! To dream that you head up a SEAL team to go against the Transformers? Oh my God, I said, "Michael, we got to do something", but we just didn't. It didn't work out and I told him that I will be in there (the theater) that day, the second that movie opens, I will be in there because I'm an action freak like that.

It blew my mind that I could have been a Navy SEAL leader going against the Transformers. That in itself blows me away. I just want to see how the movie turns out and I will pay my money at least twice that weekend to see it, but I hate to you that I'm not doing it .

  4. Like I said on the show: it's confusing. He took her memory away by the end of Superman 2, but did he make her forget that they had sex or only that he was Clark Kent? If it's the former, then she wouldn't know Jason was his. But she does, so it must be the latter of the two. It's just odd that his memory removing kiss is so specific about which memories it erases.

Or they slept together after the kiss. She sleeps with Superman not knowing that it's Clark, and he gets to sleep with Lois again. Like I said though, that is not like Superman to do that.

  5. I would, and have, bought it. From an antique store no less.

I was on vacation and with family who decided to go antiquing (joy). This particular store had a comic for sale, for $10. They probably thought they were milking me for a sucker.

    This was the book:

Featires the first Silver Age Joker appearance baby!!!

Oh, and hello. This is my first post. I told Mike I'd register and i did.

    Des

In your case, you should have laughed in their faces. An antiques store that sells comics should know exactly what it's worth.

    Detective Comics #268 F- $150

Nice return on that 10 bucks.

It's actually Batman #110 which last had a listing price in the mid 200s if I'm not mistaken.

This website had the wrong title.
