  1. I know I've seen that before. Where is that from?
  2. Have you read Batman / Spawn: War Devil? I haven't sadly, though funnily enough I did read a little about in an old Wizard yesterday. Between that and your quite astounding review, I'm morbidly curious, espcially to hear Batman call Spawn 'punk' fifteen times. Oh, Jesus. Was it this or the Batman/Punisher one that had Batman incessantly using the word "twit" like he was a ten-year-old who just learned a new swear word?
  3. That could definitely work. So long as each book wasn't too crowded, because there are a lot of really good characters there. On another track is this the best idea ever or what? http://www.kidscomiccon.com/kidscomiccon2008.html
  4. The price tag alone would do it for me. I haven't played any Final Fantasy games past VIII, though.
  5. *COUGHCOUGH*X-Men*COUGH* At least the X-cast is spread out over several books. With seven members each, Uncanny and Astonishing have the largest rosters. The other books currently have about five members each (with Wolverine being on three of the teams): Astonishing: Wolverine, Colossus, Emma, Scott, Kitty, Beast and Armor Legacy: Xavier, Magneto and a bunch of bad guys Uncanny: Wolverine, Colossus, Nightcrawler, Emma, Scott, Angel and Hepzibah X-Factor: Madrox, M, Strong Guy, Rictor and Siryn X-Force: Wolverine, X-23, Warpath and Wolfsbane Young X-Men: Dust, Blindfold, Wolf Cub, Rockslide, Ink and Greymalkin It's definitely been improved. I can remember the late 90s, when it seemed like a new X-Man joined the team every two or three months or so, and everyone who had ever been an X-Man was shoved into either X-Men, Uncanny, or both, and there were close to thirty characters all fighting each other for screen time. It was chaos, and I would hate for JSA to go down that road.
  6. I love Robinson. His Golden Age mini is in my top five stories, all time.
  7. I sound like a broken record, but this was another great column. I love being part of this thing and being able to write up against these guys. I always look forward to reading the other gentlemen's reviews; it's seriously one of the highlights of my week. Dubs, drqshadow, awesome job all around.
  8. Laid back... discussions... about comics? I'm sorry, I don't understand. Watchmen is, of course, amazing. It's such a hack cliche, but I really do come away with something new every time I read it. It's the only book (thus far) that I've been able to talk myself into shelling out for the Absolute Edition.
  9. Seconded. Those and the Citadel. The other planets were fine, but felt like story padding. Which, yeah, they were. Of course, that story padding is where the lion's share of the actual "shooting things" tended to be. I kind of dug the whole surveying and exploring thing, too. When I was a kid, one of the sides of TNG that lit my brain was the whole "Let's go down there!" "Why, what's down there?" "I dunno. Maybe nothing. Let's go see! Come on!" aspect, the idea that these were places no one had really gotten to explore before. Of course, I was a weird kid. Yeah, me too, except I went through as a good guy the first time. I also want to go through and play the "Bring Down the Sky" pack as a relatively huigh level character; I didn't realize you couldn't just play the main game finish it, and then import your character as he/she was at the end and just play. It has to be part of the main storyline as an unlocked planet. Boo-urns. I swear, no one does this shit better than Bioware. I heart them. I'm totally re-installing Baldur's Gate.
  10. Well, I just finished it, and I gotta say that while I can definitely understand why it wouldn't float everyone's boat, I loved it. It's talky and more interested in telling a story than having a firefight with alien cyborgs, but... well, that's right up my alley.
  11. JL takes place a few years after Superman: TAS, so it could concievably be Barry in the episode. That said, it's totally Wally. That's exactly how the character was written at the time - kind of an overcompensating jackass.

  14. My identical cousin, coincidentally also named Dan Toland and who happens to live in my house, but who totally isn't me and therefore could totally have entered, is raging at the sky even as we speak. Holy crap, that's a lot of swag.
  15. Ha! Been there, done that. It's incredibly easy to make fun of Mansquito... which is why I did it... but the fact remains that sometimes you want cheese. And if you do, Mansquito has it in buckets. It's terrible - don't get me wrong - but that doesn't mean it can't be fun in the right frame of mind.
  16. What's more disturbing is that the subject line is "white water rafting". What? What do you -- Oh. OH! Ewww.
  17. It should get a twelve. Gilbert Gottfried is argubly the most irritating man in the entertainment industry, but he rules over this episode with an iron fist.
  18. Looks fine from here. Incidentally, Bonnie Hammer was replaced as the president of the Sci Fi Channel two months ago. It's early yet to tell how, if at all, things will change over there, but I have to be somewhat hopeful.
  19. I'm gonna cover this series at some point, but seriously, Mike, do yourself a favor. Log off right now and start watching it. I'm still pissed at Fox for mishandling this show.
  20. I'm not sure this needs to be remade... ... but yeah, those pics look pretty cool.
  21. Totally agreed. I actually read the book before I saw the movie, and so it took me years to understand that just because people found the movie confusing didn't necessarily mean they were idiots.
  22. Wow. Sounds like I won't be getting this. Great review.
  23. Okay... I had "Nature Trail to Hell" running through my head all week. I had finally gotten it out of there. Now it's back. Thanks, Dubs.
