  1. Thought I already posted this but I guess I didn't. I thought this was the best Batman review yet. Even funnier than the "you're all fired" is the revelation that James enjoyed the stunt double's male ass. I was in a record/dvd store and knocked a shelf sending two box sets to the floor. But one of them was I Am Legend so that's ok. I could, however, have done without the Seal song... I love the U2 song though And I hate U2. That's gotta be their best tune.
  2. Just dropped Essential Sub-Mariner from my DCBS order and donated another 9.99.

  4. Is it sad that I clicked on the NSFW thing and hoped for nudity? Cool idea
  5. And, if you're insane like me and want to possibly incur the wrath of your wife, support the Hero Initiative and buy something expensive like I did.
  6. Hey everybody, as I heard on last week's Wordballoon podcast, John Ostrander is suffering from heavy glaucoma and has recently needed a lot of surgery and incurred a huge hospital bill. I think because of a lot of his work, his influence is huge on modern comics. He's probably my favorite writer other than Marv Wolfman and his work on Suicide Squad is epic. As per John Siuntres' idea, if you can't make it to WW Chicago for the special auction by the Hero Initiative, let's go to this site and donate $3 (the price of one comic) to help out a great veteran writer.

    Randomness

When I kill ants inside my house or outside my door, I don't flush them or toss them in the garbage. I put their corpses outside the door as a warning to other ants. I believe this is working.
  8. I hope you said something like: "Yeah, want to help with my ground work?"
  9. Ugh. I never want to do episode 100 again...
  10. It's going to be pretty fucking hard writing for Dying in the Gutters on episode 100 if comicbookdb.com won't let me log in to see mature content...
  11. All I can think of is anything Mignola has done since leaving Hellboy regularly. Bernie Wrightson and Gene Colan. Of course, Kirby. Mignola and Cassaday are probably the only guys born after WW2 that qualify for me.
  12. Right now, anything mildly interesting made outside of the Hollywood studio system gets my money, but this looks fantastic.
  13. Sorry Suave, but the stench will never leave you.

Which is going to make that commentary all the more better.
  16. This probably my most anticipated theatrical movie right now: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSgLOvH_MMk The first and second trailer at apple has finished effects and subtitles for the aliens: http://www.apple.com/trailers/sony_pictures/district9/

    Episode 97

I'll trade genuine banter over reading off of imdb anyday. Other horror podcasts do that and try to pass it off as knowledge but it is easy to tell. I've already made it pretty clear that I know fuck-all about Hammer so mistakes are gonna happen. Thanks for chiming in.
  18. Young Allies #1-This is the first of the 70th nniversary specials I've read and this one starts off as kind of a mediocre story set in WW2 with Bucky Toro and the Young Allies but quickly gets into the modern Marvel world and tells a poignant but a little cliched story. I cried on the last page. Read this one if you wnat to see Bucky as Cap pour a little out for his homies. 8/10 Total Comic books: 158 Trade paperbacks: 9 Graphic novels: 1 Jan 01-Apr 21=105 comics, 4 TPBs...Joker's Asylum: Two-Face, Joker's Asylum: Poison Ivy, Joker's Asylum: Scarecrow, Joker's Asylum: Penguin, Joker's Asylum: Joker, Adam: Legend of the Blue Marvel #1, Vigilante #1, Fantastic Four #558-564, Harbinger: The Beginning, Simon Dark #10-17, Captain Britain and MI-13 #8-10, The Darkness #8-10, The Darkness: Lodbrok's Hand Oneshot, The Darkness #75, Battle for the Cowl: Underground, Battle for the Cowl: Arkham Asylum, Green Lantern #40, New Avengers #47, Mighty Avengers #20, Iron Man: The End, The End League #4-6, Kick-Ass #5, JSA: All-Stars, Battle for the Cowl: Network, Battle for the Cowl #3, Age of Desire, Poe #1, Jack Kirby's The Demon, Green Lantern #41, Battle for the Cowl #3, Battle for the Cowl Gotham Gazette Batman Lives, Batman #687, Green Lantern Corps #37, Monsters on the Prowl #20, DC Comics Classic Library Roots of the Swamp Thing, Sudden Gravity (a Tale of the Panopticon), Green Lantern Corps Through the Ages, Green Lantern #42, Batman and Robin #1, Young Allies #1
  19. Found 20 Doc Savage novels for forty bucks.
  20. Batman and Robin #1-Fuckign awesome. Better than I expected even. It was fun, violent and action-packed with GREAT character moments. Add to that that it set up an intriguing and crazy new villain. I am fucking sold! Best single issue I've read in some time. 10/10 Total Comic books: 157 Trade paperbacks: 9 Graphic novels: 1 Jan 01-Apr 21=105 comics, 4 TPBs...Joker's Asylum: Two-Face, Joker's Asylum: Poison Ivy, Joker's Asylum: Scarecrow, Joker's Asylum: Penguin, Joker's Asylum: Joker, Adam: Legend of the Blue Marvel #1, Vigilante #1, Fantastic Four #558-564, Harbinger: The Beginning, Simon Dark #10-17, Captain Britain and MI-13 #8-10, The Darkness #8-10, The Darkness: Lodbrok's Hand Oneshot, The Darkness #75, Battle for the Cowl: Underground, Battle for the Cowl: Arkham Asylum, Green Lantern #40, New Avengers #47, Mighty Avengers #20, Iron Man: The End, The End League #4-6, Kick-Ass #5, JSA: All-Stars, Battle for the Cowl: Network, Battle for the Cowl #3, Age of Desire, Poe #1, Jack Kirby's The Demon, Green Lantern #41, Battle for the Cowl #3, Battle for the Cowl Gotham Gazette Batman Lives, Batman #687, Green Lantern Corps #37, Monsters on the Prowl #20, DC Comics Classic Library Roots of the Swamp Thing, Sudden Gravity (a Tale of the Panopticon), Green Lantern Corps Through the Ages, Green Lantern #42, Batman and Robin #1
