  1. Shane who?

I'd rather have Robert Carlyle as Cassidy: he looks haggard, can play a violent drunk, has a fan following who'll watch the show just because he's in it and, you know, is a really solid actor.

Shane MacGowan is the singer of the Pogues and who Cassady is based one from what I remember Ennis saying. He is the quintessential drunken Irish lout and would be perfect for the role.

  2. Is anybody else thinking that Peter and Sylar are the opposites of each other, both can copy powers and both have a hard on for being special.

They both had lives that they felt were unfufilled and both believed they were destined for something more.

I bet that as the series goes on Peter will learn to control or retain other heroes powers.

Yeah...I was thinking the same thing. They even look alike!

It is now safe to say that Sylar can learn at an incredible speed, heal at an incredible speed and control the future as well as telekinesis.

    How do you stop him?

    Hiro.

  3. Great read as always. I know you meant focused more on the movie aspects and contributions of his works, but another paragraph to flesh out his literature achievments would have been nice.

    Y'AI 'NG'NGAH, YOG-SOTHOTH H'EE-L'GEB F'AI THRODOG UAAAH

    OGTHROD AI'F GEB'L-EE'H YOG-SOTHOTH 'NGAH'NG AI'Y ZHRO

Thank you muchly sir. Funnily enough I trimmed 100 or so words that talked about the literature of Lovecraft. I will be reviewing some Lovecraft stuff for the podcast so stay tuned and it'll be done before you know it!

Oh yeah...You think I could convince Yog-Sothoth to clean my room once he's here?

  4. A damn shame. I would send a letter if I had an address but an email will have to do. Thinking about what the industry would be like without Mr. Cockrum's contributions is depressing and it is just as depressing that he left us in such a fashion.

I lost a grandfather in much the same way a few years back. My dad has the disease and so do I. I'm sure diabetes will hit me much harder the older I get as it is my father. I'll be donating whatever I can to the local Diabetes Foundation and I'd urge other to do so as well.

This is not a condition that people should be dying from in the 21st century.

  5. Now the only thing I;m really worried about is Hiro's time travel. It's evident that he changed the time stream since no one knew who Hiro was when he first went to the dinner and afterwardthe lady at the counter knew who he was so why didn't he save the girl?

Too busy growing a goatee and buying a sword?

  6. Word on the street tells me that Windows now runs really well on a mac. I've pretty much fallen out of computer gaming, so the "inadequacies" of a mac really aren't my concern. My friends tell me that if you don't mind running windows, macs can now play all those games.

This is pure word of mouth, so correct me if I'm wrong peeps.

I much prefer lounging with a console.

Thanks...I have a mac because I hate Windows so I won't be installing that crashfest on my lovely new computer. I'll stick with my XBOX I guess. I would love an RPG like Fable but with superheroes. Just a thought. I'll go now.

  7. First you have to consider that Peter doesn't always know what power he's absorbed. Until he fell and survived, he had no idea Claire's power would save his life. Second is that he doesn't know how to control them. Even around Nathan, Peter can barely fly. Being around Sylar would give Peter TK powers, but not the knowhow when it comes to throwing lockers and lifting people in the air. Third is that we don't know how many powers he can absorb / mimic at once. I personally believe it to be one, though it could change as he grows stronger. Since he already had Claire's healing factor, Peter couldn't mimic Sylar's TK until Claire faded from his system.

I actually think he did have Sylar's Tk without realizing it. Didn't it seem strange that Sylar was throwing lockers at him and none hit peter?

    Thanks. Question answered.

  8. Before? Whah?

Peter met Claire in the hallway before the shit with Sylar hit the fan.

I think Peter can use powers again after he used them once. He said that he has to be close to someone to use their powers, but Claire was all the way over at the football field when he put his leg back together and the police showed up.

I don't think Peter fully understands his powers, and thinks he needs to be near someone during usage. Peter fixing his leg long after Claire fled indicates, to me at least, that he retains powers for a little while after the other "hero" has left his side. My guess is that, after time (like Rogue), the mimicked powers fade away.

Ah. I get what you're saying. Did he really absorb them? Or would he default to necessity? I just thought he was a coward. I'd have been telekinetically throwing locker doors right back at the mofo.

  9. Peter had already absorbed Claire's power before the incident with Sylar, so maybe he can only absorb one at a time.

And I thought this was one of the best episodes yet. Sure, the lack of Hiro stunk, but the story moved forward, mysteries were solved, more characters crossed paths and several cliffhangers were left.

    Before? Whah?

  10. At most, one hundred feet. Think about it: Peter was only a few stories above his brother before he jumped, but Peter couldn't fly until Nathan flew upwards to grab him. At present time, the radius can't be that large.

I also assume he loses the power as soon as the other person is out of range. Though it would be really cool if he retained every power he ever came in "contact" with, making him an uber-mutant.

Well if thats the case if I was him I'd be a little antsy about flying again. Peter was flying when got caught but still fell, that could just mean that he really didn't know how to control the power. Not necessarily mean he automatically loses it if he's out of range. Hopefully we will get an ep that truely explains his powers...

The latest episode had him absorb Claire's powers but not Syler's. I'm thinking that Syler's different. Is it just me or was this one a little more boring than the others? No Hiro unitl the end.

  11. Really enjoyed reading this throughout. There's quite a lot of films on that list that I haven't seen yet, I've gotta get around to it. The only thing I disagree with was the idea that King is embedded further into pop culture than Conan-Doyle, basically because of Holmes.

Thanks for the kind words Luke. And yes, I may have been a bit overzealous using that name. I would even argue that the phrase "Elementary my dear, Watson" is even more embedded into the culture than Holmes himself.

Don't be a stranger folks, it's great to hear feedback, positive or otherwise, as I'm new to this kind of writing.
