This is truly the Darkest Timeline.

You say that - I had to Google to find out what Will was talking about. It's not on his Wikipedia and he wasn't charged by police. I fully acknowledge that I don't have my finger on the pulse of Hollywood scandals and things going viral, but it's the children who are wrong.

  2. Scumbags.

Maffew of Botchamania fame (also a neighbour of mine, even though we've never met) had something similar happen to him with Vimeo re: his 400+ videos. In the short term I'd check your terms of service to check what basis they have to do this. They'll inevitably have an out, but if it gives you a short term reason to keep things going beyond the forums, as well as looking for a new provider, it's worth fighting your corner.

Not sure if you’ve done a sports film yet, and there are plenty of historical allegories in this one set in a fictional Negro Baseball Leagues.

I'm not sure Pandy and I are sufficiently qualified to talk about "fictional Negro Baseball Leagues", for a plethora of reasons.

Regarding my question about your favourite of the film scores from last month’s roster, Ian recapped the scene from the Holiday, where Jack Black’s character (a film composer himself) performs a rendition of the “Driving Miss Daisy” theme, and recounts its importance in the history of film scores. Well, I wouldn’t be able to sleep if I didn’t point out the irony of this scene, as Composer Hans Zimmer wrote the music to Driving Miss Daisy, (something Black’s character points out), and Zimmer actually scored The Holiday. Zimmer is a longtime collaborator of Nancy Meyers, so I’m sure this was in the script and is a nice little nod to their friendship.

    Good fact!

And don't apologise for lengthy feedback - we're happy to receive it!

  5. Yes, you can help influence not only the film Pandy & I use as the joint review, but the homework we assign each other to plot the range of their career. As announced in Episode 75, our subject will be Richard Pryor.

Pandy & I will take an executive decision on what makes the joint review by Saturday 22 May so get your ideas in before then!

I feel like one of the main problems with this run was that Jennifer Lawrence became a massive star and, as such, drove the focus of the rest of the series. Her character was a cypher to begin with. A toy between Xavier and Magneto, she was never written as anything else. Does it suck? Yup. Does it mean they tried to do more with her? Yup. But the more they did, did nothing to expand on her character other than thrusting her to the forefront. Honestly, it would have been more interesting had January Jones become a big star after the first movie. That, at least, has more story potential.

It would help if January Jones had the acting talent to match her looks.

Apologies if that's a tad sexist, but my word, she was awful in First Class....

Guys, please cover Fleabag. It's two seasons totaling 12 episodes. Each one is ~25 minutes, so it could easily be done in four or six episodes. Creator / Star Phoebe Waller-Bridge has repeatedly said there will be no third season, so it's a perfect fit.

Dave - where do you stand on this, given it being a comedy? Do we treat it as a sitcom & reject it, or The Middleman and cover it?

I know we can expect (nay, demand) feedback from Mike and Pandy....

And Vince is now an adviser to Trump. Like, why not just put up a giant neon sign that reads, "WE WANT SAUDI MONEY"?

They did that in 2018 - keep up!

But the whole thing is sickening, especially so soon after Vince, through Linda and her Trup Super PAC, basically bribes Florida to let them continue to film in the Performance Centre.

NB) We will not be covering his Bond films, Flash Gordon or The Rocketeer.

NBB) Don't just post Hot Fuzz, people - we need other ideas.
