Race will be an interesting challenge going throughout the series, because one might argue that it still doesn't get better until the 21st century. Your mileage may vary on this, but I know for a fact that there are people who found/find Aladdin offensive (rewritten song lyrics notwithstanding), Mulan dicey (the Huns having yellow eyes of evil), and even some lore mythology stuff like in Brother Bear. It'll be tricky waters to wade through, which should add to the fun!
Absolutely. I've never heard of there being a racial furore for the animated Aladdin movie (moreso the live action film having a white guy involved), but Mulan's a good shout. Also the gypsies in Hunchback of Notre Dame and whether the film got the balance right. And if you think Hercules looks Greek in the slightest....

Slight historical correction, Andrew Johnson was the first US president to be impeached, not Bill Clinton. Clinton was the second, then Trump for the two-peat. But yes, Nixon was all but guaranteed to be impeached but he ducked out just before it happened.
Yeah, Christian pulled me up on that too. Still, in the words of Meatloaf, 2 outta 3 ain't bad!

Yes, you can help influence not only the film Pandy & I use as the joint review, but the homework we assign each other to plot the range of their career. As announced in Episode 89, our subject will be Drew Barrymore.
Pandy & I will take an executive decision on what makes the joint review by 18 June 2022 so get your ideas in before then!

Googled Half Nelson - found out it's a Glen A Larson show.....
I'm sure Dave & I would have a ball with that Robin Hood show, but we'd need to find it first.

No chance of that in THIS thread.

I saw @Dread in here and was worried he'd be bringing up Kubrick....

Listened! Very good discussion of the film; the only constructive criticism I'd offer up may be slightly shorter clips used - in part because Disney might be litigious on that aspect (our circulation notwithstanding), and in part because there's no reason to pad out a runtime unless clips act as definitive bookmarks. I don't want this to sound harsh as there's only 2-3 clips used between the opening theme music and the closing song, but the Queen's death scene and the closing song has 10 seconds of speech before the latter starts up and the former ends.
Looking forward to Pinocchio!

Well done to getting this off the ground, Christian - a new Earth-2 podcast is always an exciting time!
Will listen in when I can - I have guests - but as you have an obvious rapport with your sister, I'm sure Episode 1 will stick the landing better than most!

NB) We will not be covering North, Armageddon or The Expendables.

So is that window open or closed? I’m also starting to explore summer travel plans.
At my end, the UK's inflation/costs rocketing boom is going to make June unlikely for me, but I'm not opposed to the concept of meeting up in Chicago at some point. Unhelpfully, I can't say when though.

Now there's a cowinky-dink....
Also, I understand Cowinky-dink to be a popular song from a Canadian kids show of your vintage, Mr Doomsday!

Titanic on both counts. If nothing else, it gets the tragedy and trauma of lots of people dying for no reason right.
And Dunston Checks In *doesn't*?!?
