  1. New blood! New blood is good! Nice solid writeup, Aaron. I need to buy this game.
  2. I just now got around to listening to this and I'm turning all shades of red listening to the video game review section. Thanks a bunch for all of the high praise, guys, I'm just glad to still have an outlet for my writing. Congrats to all of the winners, and here's to another great year on the main page!
  3. Yeah, right now I'm floating around the galaxy, landing on various planets and scanning stuff... it's just really slow and I'm not too enthused about it yet.
  4. I second the thoughts of those above.
  5. I think I caught a couple hiccups in DW's Initiative #10 review... Everyone is really hitting stride with these lately, though, and it's become a great collaborative piece. I love that we don't always share the same opinion of these books, and that we each have such a distinct voice and style. It's clear that nobody's ill-informed, either, since we're frequently citing the books we grew up on and comparing the new crop to them. In short, it's really a great feeling to be a part of these right now.
  6. I just bought this game last week, since the wife wanted to try it out and didn't have much interest in Bioshock. It's... a little dull...
  7. I second Yoda's choices. BTTF is my favorite, but Gump is his best.
  8. Have to second just about every sentiment in the thread so far. It's been an honor to be a part of this site's rise, and it'll be exciting to see where it goes next.

    The Music Thread

Yeah, I just grabbed that a few days ago. I like the concept, although NIN's music hasn't really been the same since The Fragile. With Teeth and Year Zero were OK... just OK.

    Kick-Ass

Watchmen needed a few issues to really hit its stride, too. Every great story needs more than just one full episode to lay the groundwork. With that said, The Twelve is nowhere near as well-written as Watchmen. It's got a great premise, and I love the way it's played out so far, but the dialog and situations aren't as easy to relate to as Moore's were. It's similar to Squadron Supreme (which I just so happen to be reading for the first time) in that respect... great, great ideas and issues, but it's a little bit of a clunky read.

    Kick-Ass

Malpractice, you need to drop what you're doing and read the first Ultimates series. Honestly.
  12. Even though I hated it when I toyed around with it at a Blockbuster near its launch, I'd jump at the chance to get one for five bucks at Goodwill. Nice find, Rabbit.
  13. I think Jack Black is every bit as unrecognizable in that photo as Downey.
  14. Like I said in the thread over on the O, they look fine... but the plastic vinyl reflective texture for EVERY SINGLE SUPERHERO'S COSTUME is getting really over the top now. The Comedian and Rorschach look great, and the Silk Spectre looks all right, but that Nite Owl is not pleasant. Ozymandias, I'm still undecided on.
  15. Most likely very much closer to the Bioshock number.

    Kick-Ass

    I actually enjoyed Kick-Ass...
  17. I love Alan Davis! But I did not love ClanDestine. I actually think a score of "flip through" was pretty generous in that instance. All in all, this week's may have been one of the most well-written IIWY's to date. Great stuff through and through, gang.
  18. Well, I'm planning to sink a boatload of hours into GTAIV in about a month and a half, so I'm going to have to choose...
  19. Damn it, I really should've bought this or Bioshock instead of Perfect Dark Zero. Maybe I'll stop by the store on the way home...
  20. I need to know what kind of spoilers are available for the Wonderful Ice Cream Suit. My curiosity? Piqued.

    A sad day

I've heard all sorts of horror stories about Microsoft Support, but have to say my experience with them was just about perfect. Quick turnaround, I got a brand new 360 within two weeks... not a repair, a replacement. However, judging by what most everybody else I know has had to go through... have strength.
  22. Strange timing... I'm just reading this TPB for the first time.
  23. That's a lot of PS2. Seriously, four of them? Why?
