  1. I loved last night's episode. I only wish I had caught the beginning of it. I only saw from the part where Conan was in the car with his mom on.

You didn't miss much. Kudo was obviously suspicious because "Conan" can't have a mother since he is not real. But he figured that this person would want to hurt Rachel and Detective Moore if he didn't cooperate. So he went with her in the car and that is where you picked up from.

  2. I'm in love with this episode. Great stuff with a real twist for an ending. And, James, you're right when you say it felt like an ending of sorts.

Question: Didn't the check Jimmy's mother handed the detective say 10,000 Yen? I only ask because that's around $90, but he screamed, "$10,000!!!!" as if it was a big deal.

Yes, it was yen on the check, but they translated it to English and so came the word "dollars" with it.

  3. I posted this at the Morphorums last year sometime, but I figured I'd post a shill it here for Crispin Freeman, who I feel is the greatest anime voice actor out there.

    Animation voice demo

That link is an mp3 file where he showcases some of his various characters that he's done the voices for. Alucard (Hellsing), Hideki (Chobits), Amon (Witch Hunter Robin), etc.

Awesome, awesome voice actor and by all accounts, a brilliant, intelligent man. Check his website--he also did a Zest soap commercial, I think. :P

  4. Are there any Case Closed comics?

There are many Detective Conan mangas, but I don't know about normal $2.95 comic books.

I was searching for some at the book store the other day (under both titles), but didn't come across a single issue.

I doubt there are any English-translated ones out right now. They're probably all only in Japanese. However, with the popularity of the show, I'm sure the manga companies will translate them soon enough.

  5. Are there any Case Closed comics?

There are many Detective Conan mangas, but I don't know about normal $2.95 comic books.

EDIT: It's called "Detective Conan" really. "Case Closed" is yet another example of Cartoon Network butchering an anime. (See: Sailormoon, Dragonball Z, Inuyasha, et al...)

  6. "Karaoke Killing" on was okay, but the next one ("Conan is Kidnapped") looks sweet!

I really liked tonight's episode. It was really sad and depressing and to be able to envoke emotions like that is a sign of a well-written script.

Oh, and I CANNOT WAIT for tomorrow's show. Looks to be very interesting...

  7. Well, tonight's episode was pretty lame.  I know they can't all be about murders, but a flag being cut up?  OH NO.  Not THAT!!!!

Because the preview looked blah (and because you said it wasn't that good), I'll probably skip tonight's episode.

Yeah, don't waste your time. Tomorrow, though, looks to be VERY good.

  8. Man, the conclusion to the two-part episode "Billionaire Birthday Blues" was so contrived and not worth the three-day wait. What a letdown.

To an extent, I agree. Some of the explanations about the water were open-ended and poorly-written, but I did like the whole explanation about the air conditioning and the microwaves causing a breaker trip. I'd rate it a 6 on a scale of 10.

  9. Metal Wolvie.

Seeing him get shot in the head and watching the bullet ricochet off his skull was one of the coolest things I've seen in the original series of Wolverine comic books. I've always loved adamantium Wolverine and my mind will never change on that.

  10. I need all of the music from the Sonic 3 and Sonic and Knuckles games. I found one website with every song, but for some reason, I can't save them to my computer. That website is:

    HERE

Any help with that (being able to save those files) would be greatly appreciated. Or, if you can find me a place that sells the soundtrack CD of the Sonic 3 and S&K games, that would be spectacular.

One note: PLEASE, no .midi files. I hate those things.

  11. Please forgive the stupid question, but I haven't been watching: Will this episode introduce these characters, or have they been previously introduced?

Only a few of the characters who will be on this new show have ever been introduced before--Supergirl (from the 90's Superman animated series), and Dr. Fate, Etrigan and Aquaman (from the first two seasons of Justice league).

Green Arrow, Zatanna, et al, have never been on Justice League before.

Actually, now that I think of it, was Zatanna ever on the 90's Superman animated series?
