  1. Well that was kind of a big waste of time for me to listen to considering i hate the Saw franchise but i like to think Mike and Jenny atleast made it an intresting listen. The only positive thing i think i can say about this franchise is that there is a Helmet song on the soundtrack to Saw 3 lol. Also they assembled a pretty impressive lineup of musicians to do the score for all the films.
  2. I have read that Messiah Complex One-Shot twice now and i don't think i could tell you one thing that happened in it.
  3. it looks like i would be dropping a lot of titles if you were running DC lol. I see you would also cancel 2 of DC's best books The All-New Atom and Birds Of Prey Your choices for The Flash book are great though.

    Next week...

It could be something in The Order or Immortal Iron Fist but while both are great books i don't know if either are big enough to warrant a HOLY SHIT moment. maybe Fantastic Four ? but at the end of the day i will probably not even read the book in question nor care about the HOLY SHIT moment (unless it's the X-Men book) but you still have me slightly intrigued now about what it could be.

    Next week...

one is either in Astonishing X-Men # 23 and/or Uncanny X-Men #492 the other is probably going to be in Sensational Spider-Man #41 and the last one would have to be in New Avengers: Illuminati #5

    Next week...

considering the only Marvel books i am getting next week are Howard The Duck and Criminal i assume these HOLY SHIT moments won't effect me at all.
  7. Mike, what is a good Charlie Huston novel to start off with ? I read his Moon Knight stuff and while i can tell he loves the character i just don't think he is good at writing comics but i was intrested in checking out his novels and now hearing you give them such praise i am definetly going to buy a few. Though as a Moon Knight fan i have to say it is a shame that the character just can't get a good series going.
  8. Agreed except that "Christmas With The Joker" isn't a bad episode. "Be A Clown" isn't all that bad either. you say that like it is a bad thing ?
  9. well i can't really say it's worse than Zeta Project or Static Shock because i haven't seen all of Zeta Project and it's been ages since i have watched Static Shock so i can't really judge but of the rest of the DCAU i definetly would rank Justice League at the bottom.
  10. Glad someone else said it first. JL is the worst show in the DCAU imo. It's a decent show but the way some people talk about it you'd think it was Citizen Kane.
  11. I read this yesterday and really dug it. I think it has the potential to be DC's new runaway hit.
  12. nope it's the softcover. although you could just buy both of the softcover volumes from me for $10 and then sell your hardback of volume one (it's OOP i believe so you might be able to get rid of it fast) but that's probably just wishful thinking on my part lol.

  14. i have been reading since issue #188 and been enjoying it so far so i will pick it up. oh and i agree with Des, Spider-Man sucks!
  15. i think i might borrow my friends Punisher Max Annual after he reads it, sounds like an intresting read. Hopefully that X-Men issue is one of the one's that blew you both away because that's the only issue that i am buying out of this lot of books you are reviewing this week.
  16. it's intresting that you guys seemed to despise Jim Calafiore's art while other podcasts like CGS and Comic Book Noise seem to think that he is the best artist on the series. not that i have anything to say on the subject considering i don't read Countdown anymore but i just thought that was really intresting. On a different note, i think i listened to over 10 hours worth of podcasts this past week all focused on Countdown and i honestly don't know why considering i could care less about this series.
  17. well they still use the Sharp R for the logo of the book but yea it's no longer on the costume which i think is a shame because it looked awesome and i use to love when Tim removed it from the shirt and used it as a weapon.
  18. Actually the "R" on Robin's costume on the cover to Countdown #38 is correct, it would actually be the interior pages that were wrong. Post-OYL Robin no longer has the Norm Breyfogle designed R on his costume.
  19. i agree with you 100% and it's one of the main reasons i will never read a JLA comic ever. On the topic of how Batman should be written, i feel that the way he is being written in Batman, and Detective currently is how he should be written and are easily the best Batman books since the Grant/Breyfogle run.
  20. I had a feeling that he was coming back. I am sad to see Beechen's run coming to an end but Dixon penned some of my favorite Robin stories ever so it's a welcome return. Also glad to see Freddie Williams is staying on art. It seems like DC is getting all the old writers back on their respective series again (Mark Waid on Flash, Jim Shooter on Legion, Dixon on Robin, Ostrander on Suicide Squad). I just wish Marv Wolfman was staying on Nightwing because i am iffy on Tomasi taking over.
  21. Did we really need to bring up War Games..........ugh. worst story ever. You guys will be happy to know that the Leslie Thompkins incident has since been retconned but that still dosen't erase that the comic was published in the first place. In relation to Thompkins characterization i didn't find her to be out of character. Just because she is portrayed a certain way in a recent comic like No Man's Land (a bad comic nonetheless) dosen't mean that's the way she was always portrayed and i don't think the episode should be held accountable for that especially considering that the comic you mentioned was published many, many years after the episode in question was made. It should also be noted that Paging The Crime Doctor is an adaptation of Detective Comics #579 entitled "The Crime Doctor's Crimson Clinic" written by Mike W. Barr and illustrated by Norm Breyfogle, and it's an excellent adaptation at that.
  22. well i had a change of heart today and decided to pre-order Neozoic anyway. It's those damn dinosaurs they just lured me in !
  23. I might pick it up in the future when i can add more funds into my comic budget but as for right now i'll pass. I am also not big on straight action stuff but anything involving dinosaurs is a pretty easy sell for me lol. are you guys going to continue to review the Red 5 issues in future IIWY? segments or does a specific comic series only get reviewed on the show once ?
