  4. The first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was the highest grossing independent film of all time until a few years ago i think. On the topic of Freddy, nothing will ever top New Nightmare so why bother making anymore.
  5. I have been digging this show quite a bit. I don't get where all the negative comments are coming from. Then again i think Heroes is one of the worst tv shows ever, so it seems my opinion is usually in the minority.
  6. I am a big fan of Guillermo del Toro, so i hope that this isn't true because i have no intrest in seeing a Hobbit movie.
  7. Desperado, El Mariachi, and From Dusk Till Dawn are really his only good movies. Sin City was complete and utter garbage. It was like a handbook on how to not adapt something to the big screen.
  8. then your thought would be wrong
  9. Yes it did. It should of won for the mob scenes alone.
  10. Daredevil Director's Cut is awesome! One of the better "comic book" movies.
  11. i believe it has been confirmed that this cavalcade of pills spilled all around Heath was actually one bottle of prescription meditcation still sealed on his nightstand next to him.
  12. After reading that it seems like this candy bar is a metaphor for homosexuality. Suddenly the name Big Mo' makes a lot more sense lol
  13. how the hell the title for that candy bar got approved is beyond me.
  14. they weren't all bad. I dug Brian Lynch's work on the various Spike series, most of the stuff in the first Buffy omnibus is pretty good especially The Origin, and there were a few others as well. I will agree though that there were definetly far less hits than there were misses.
  15. i'd reccomend Zombies Calling (Slave Labor Graphics) God Save The Queen (DC/Vertigo) Last Winter (Image) Nixon's Pals (Image) Essex County (Top Shelf)
  16. Youngblood is going to be awesome so i voted for that. I might pick up the first few issues of X-Force at the Wild Pigs comics sale and see if it any good but so far nothing i've seen/heard about the book sounds all that intresting.
  17. don't bother getting either of those they suck. Get Batman: Blind Justice instead.
  18. I think that's taking it too far. Having one of your flagship "hero" characters strike a child would be taking them to a far too irredeemable place. Mike, I have to say i am actually kind of bummed that you didn't dig this book. There aren't that many mainstream superhero books that i was looking foward to more than this series and it seems like it's generally been well recieved elsewhere, but i would be lying if i said that most of your criticisms sound like things that wouldn't irk me as well. I still have to wait until the end of the month to read my copy but until then there's nothing else i can really say about it.
  19. it's actually DC Universe: The Stories Of Alan Moore, the old printing is called Across The Universe.
  20. While the scene in question is a little jarring, i think that the fact that it happens at all should be a clue that something is wrong. But if it isn't than this is a huge oversight on the writer/editorial side of things and definetly has no place in a Batman book of any kind especially one like this that seems to be aimed at children. All that aside though, i am still looking foward to reading this series and i have already ordered every issue solicited so far. I would be happy to review future issues for you guys since it appears that Mike and Des atleast won't be picking anymore of this series up.
  21. While that TMNT game for the NES wasn't all that great, I always just thought it was awesome that they used the cover for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #4 for the game cover. It's always cool to see the Turtles rocking the red bandana's like they are supposed to.
  22. While the I Am Legend movie wasn't great it definetly wasn't abysmal, but then again i have followed the production of this movie for a long time and have read several versions of this script (including the final shooting script) and i can say that many of the things that you guys had problems with were actually things the studio did to the film over the course of the last few months before the film opened in theaters. The original ending that was shot was far more in tune with the book, and stuff you guys pointed out as plotholes (like the bridges, and the alpha male/alpha female, etc.) were going to play out more in the original cut but since test audiences didn't like it, they were forced to go back and re-shoot the horrible ending the film has now. The first hour of the movie was excellent in my opinion, and i thought it captured the feeling of desperation i felt when reading the book quite well. The film was really beautifully shot and the scenes of a deserted New York were breathtaking. I thought Will Smith did a great job, and the dog Samantha played off him really well. It's a shame that the last 20-25 minutes in this cut was so awful that it ruined to me what was otherwise a really good movie. My only other complaint was the awful CGI used in the movie and I don't understand why they couldn't of just used some dudes in makeup instead.
