  1. The thing about Lucha Underground is that it isn't really a weekly wrestling show. It is a science fiction show with time travelers and dragons that have wrestling matches. I love the show, but I will agree with DW, season 3 has been the weakest, but I'd definitely give Season 1 a look and see if it is for you. Pentagon Jr. is worth it.

Has been stuck in my head for days on end.
  3. As of 12/26/16, I am officially debt free. I feel really good about it.
  4. Been cleaning out some boxes lately. Today I found some old college presentations. That were saved on 3 1/2" floppy disc. College. How am I that old?
  5. Heh. I just saw a sign for a local show that will feature 'Doink the Clown' vs. Santa Claus in the main event. Sadly, they couldn't get a Golden Corral parking lot. They will have to settle for the field behind the Walmart.

Been listening to newest Iggy Pop album (Post Pop Depression) a lot recently. I am really enjoying this.
  7. I forget where I heard it, but the theory that Rita was the green ranger interests me. Sold. I'll take three.

    WWE and TMNT crossover figures.
  9. Gave Timeless and Pitch a look. Pitch is a bit generic, but it is about baseball so I'm a bit biased. I say a bit generic because two episodes in the 'outsider joining the team' seems a bit fill-in-the-blank and they choose woman. Could have been woman, gay, old guy, little kid, disabled and nothing changes. Now Timeless has me more interested. For as much as I hate time travel logic sometimes, I love time travel fiction. What I will give the first episode is that they give real weight to messing with the timeline. But, I can see this show being really expensive and not lasting long.
  10. As with every year, I will state early plans to attend. Unlike other years, new job and actual paid vacation combined with declining debt make this year an actual possibility.
  11. Went on a movie binge for the first time in a while. Good times. Deadpool - First viewing since the theater. Enjoyable, but I think the joke land less the second time around. Rush Hour - Wanted to watch some Jackie Chan. I don't know. 14 year old me loved this movie. 31 year old me finds Chris Tucker endlessly annoying. Shanghai Noon - I think I liked this one better because it is set in the old west. And Owen Wilson, while annoying, is an improvement over Tucker. Skiptrace - Hey, a Jackie Chan movie I haven't seen. This time the buddy is Johnny Knoxville. This is about a cliched and by the numbers as a film can be, but I enjoyed it. Chan has clearly slowed down some in his 60s (and the credit blooper reel is not as fun anymore) but he still goes as hard as he can. And Knoxville is by far the least annoying of his sidekicks I watched today.
  12. The Kitchen - A crime boss story that I enjoyed for the most part. I had a bit of trouble remembering some characters as they were not really used great, but I got enough that it didn't bug me too much. Amazing Spider-Man (Vol. 2) #38 - Continuing reading things the random books I randomly buy. I know that I read this within the last two years, as I read all of Vol. 2. thru to 700. I did not remember this at all. Aunt May tells Peter she knows and they talk about it. Felt a little lacking. Reminded me of the much better.. Ultimate Spider-Man #13 - which I dug out and read. Peter tells Mary Jane. Simple. This feels real and might be my favorite single issue of the series. Amazing Spider-Man (Vol. 2) #39 - A silent issue with no dialogue. A three minute look (because I can't say read). I felt ripped off and I didn't pay the $2.25 cover price. Silent issues can work if the art is up for it. And this was not. Comics: 199 (17)Graphic Novels: 7Trade Paperbacks: 12 (70)
  13. iZombie - I like the show, so when I saw these at the library, I thought why not? Cannot say that I was a fan. Reminds me of the Mitch Hedberg joke: "Hey, Mitch, did you hear that story about that lady who drove her car into the lake with her kids and they all drowned?" "Yeah, I did, and you know what - that inspires me to write a movie about a gorilla!". The comic and show share almost nothing in common outside of the lead being a zombie. Heck, I got a real Being Human vibe from the comic until it went all Lovecraftian and I stopped caring. Superman (Vol. 2) #53 - In the read the random comic I just bought series. I saw the cover and something told me I should buy this. I have no idea why. After reading it, I have less idea why. It was a nothing story in what felt like a filler issue. Still, it is a pretty great cover. Comics: 190 (17)Graphic Novels: 7Trade Paperbacks: 12 (70)
  14. I just watched Jeff Hardy 'wrestle' a kangaroo.
  15. Lucha Underground is back. I know I've said it before, but I'll repeat myself: Dario Cueto is the best character in wrestling. Also, having watched NXT first, I really want to see Pentagon Jr. vs. Shinsuke Nakamura.
  16. Batman: Death and the Maidens - Way too long and the art looks horrible. Cannot say that I've read any Ra's stories, yet it feels like I've read them all. This Damned Band - Too much set up and not enough payoff. Could have done with two less issues. Comics: 189 (17)Graphic Novels: 7Trade Paperbacks: 8 (41)
  17. Fantastic Four: The End - I know that I read the X-Men 'The End' books. I know I did. Don't remember a lick. I think this will share the same fate. Tarzan vs. Predator - At the Earth's Core - I don't believe I have read/watched anything Tarzan outside of the shortlived WB series that I had to google to make sure it wasn't Jungle Book. That said, I really enjoyed this, for an issue. At four issues it felt really padded with about ten subplots too many. Superman: Lois & Clark - I'll be honest, I picked these up thinking they were television based, akin to Batman 66. After that disappointment set in, I enjoyed this as much as I could. That is to say, I felt I was missing large chunks of a bigger overall story. Comics: 174 (17)Graphic Novels: 7Trade Paperbacks: 8 (41)
  18. Helen Killer - Thought this was going to be a horror book with Helen Keller as the scary monster. Turn out, this is Wild Wild West with Helen Keller as Daredevil. And no where near as fun as that sentence should be. Madrox - I have like zero knowledge of the X-Factor corner of the X-books. This did nothing to make me change that fact, Comics: 157 (17)Graphic Novels: 7Trade Paperbacks: 8 (41)
  19. Strike! - Late 80s comic from Eclipse. First issue was awesome, told mostly in flashback to WWII and good old Nazi shootin' and flag wavin'. Then you go to present day and the main character is horrible. Then it goes into space. Then it just kinda ended. Really disappointing. Comics: 148 (17)Graphic Novels: 7Trade Paperbacks: 8 (41
  20. I have a sudden and rather odd case of pneumonia. I feel like work will be most non non heinous.
