  1. I agree that this is a very confusing series. I've only seen five episodes so far and that's caused me more headaches than I usually have in a year. I definitely agree about complexity adding to the series though.

since Vision of Escaflowne is my all-time favorite anime of all

You're quickly starting to grow on me Marit. Escaflowne is one of my favorites too. At home I have the entire series and, very unfortunately, the movie. The first disk got a really deep scratch in it a couple of years ago but IrBen Entertainment, the local anime rental store, has the same four-disk set so I'll be able to get a replacement soon, probably this weekend. The movie was very disappointing though. I haven't had a look at the new manga series yet but it looks disappointing as well.

  2. That may be true. However, Nintendo has been heading in the direction of innovation instead of trying to compete for the best graphics(which they've never been good at to begin with). Graphics don't neccesarily make a good game and Nintendo knows this.

  3. I'll always remember the very first time I played Soul Calibur 2. It was during a party at my friend Tom's place. Somebody else brought over a gamecube with SC2. We played that all evening. When everybody else stopped hogging the controllers, me and Tom started constantly practicing. During our 22nd match of the evening(Tom with Talim, myself with Link), we had a battle that went on for 2 and a half minutes without a single hit. Every single attack was either dodged or blocked. I forget who won but that was an awesome match either way.

Me and my other friend Chance were once very competitive at Monster Rancher 2. He had a Horn(Suezo/Tiger) type monster that had the luck to win an F-Rank Tounament right after it was born and then the D-Rank Official Cup! He got cocky and challenged my newest monster,a Dark Zuum(Zuum/Monol). Even though he was two ranks above me I was much stronger because my monster didn't ever fluke out on really tough opponents. I got a knockout in about 14 seconds and Chance got so mad he nearly threw my controller.

  4. If there is somebody else on this website that uses MPlayer I NEED YOUR HELP!!

My question is simple. How do I get subtitles to appear with MPlayer?

-edit- I fixed my problem. It turns out that you need to supply your own font file before you can use subtitles.

  5. ditto.

I recently downloaded a subbed trailer of this game and I found out that you will be able to get Auron(Final Fantasy X) on your team. There were also a few good scenes with Cloud and "Leon"(call him Squall dammit!). And most hilarious of all, Mickey in a ninja suit.

  6. I've only read 2 Salvatore books, "The Thousand Orcs", and "The Crystal Shard".

I'm in the middle of Streams of Silver, but I can't seem to finish it with all the Terry Goodkind Books I still have to read. I just finished his fifth book, "Soul of the Fire", and went straight on to "Faith of the Fallen". And I've already bought the seventh book, "The Pillars of Creation".

  7. I'd like to see a Lion King Level

They probably won't do a Lion King level. In the first game Simba became a sumoning gem because his world was destroyed by the Heartless.

In other news, RINOA IS GOING TO BE IN KH2!!!

  8. Oh, and coming from the GC version of SC II, the controls for the PS2 were just AWFUL for me.

Really? When I first played the PS2 version of SC2, I was surprised how much the controls were the same!

but the jobs are only so-so. The only real good ones seem like assassin (I realllllly like the wave blades) and pirate.

I like the saint just for the fact that his weapon is like a super-nyoibo staff.

  9. I also got a chance to try this game on Saturday.

Randon Create characters is enough of a reason to buy this alone.

    QFT

But just remember, there are some random character battles that nobody wants to see. example: Remember the thong battle. ya. not pretty

  10. I have just found out that the long-awaited Soul Calibur III will be released for PS2 on Oct.25.

    THAT'S THIS TUESDAY!

    :)

    /hooray

(unfortunately, almost everything is released a day later in Canada)

This latest title in the series will include 3 or 4 new characters, beautiful graphics, the ability to make CUSTOM CHARACTERS!!, and even an RTS(real-time strategy) campaign for your custom characters.

  11. Here it is.

Well the issue of educating parents on what they are buying their kids is something that should be considered this is not the way to do it:

This guy is hurting the people that want to do something productive by giving the gaming industry cannon fodder to use as an easy escape. All he cares about is the free air time and the money he makes.

  12. Oh man. There are so many good songs in FFIX. I can't decide which one is my favorite. Vamo' Alla Flamenco, Hunter's Chance, Mystery Sword, Feel My Blade, Dark Messenger... I could list them all off if I wanted too.

In other news, Chibi-con was fantastic. I managed to spend about $60 within the first hour. There was a Katamari Damacy tournament in the video game room. I had never before played the game and as a result got beaten in the first round, although it was extremely close. Kscriv ended up getting the win. We watched a bunch of good anime such as Kimi ga Nozomu Eien, Firestorm, the original Yu-Gi-Oh, and Bleach. We were starting to get bored by about 4 PM, but we stayed because at 6:30 they were playing Final Fantasy VII:Advent Children. That movie was absolutely awesome.
