Creative Team: Robert Kirkman (Writer) and Nelson Blake II (Artist)

Just read the first issue. This is pretty fun, confusing at first as to what all the word boxes were, but then it was explained to me. I haven't really read any Top Cow before, and this was w\awesome. I don't know if this is the first time this guy has been in comics, but if he hasn't, I hope that they give more backstory to him in a later issue.

I don't wanna spoil much because this is a really good comic, but basically its all about this guy who can read minds, except not in the way most mind readers do in comics. What he mostly does is read current thoughts, and if he wants to go in further in their brain he can obtain the whole story of that person's life in a second. He uses his abilities and kick ass weapons for good, by stopping awful events that could happen in the city. He does all this by stalking people and reading their minds.

I understand how this guy wasn't disappointing from reviews I have read of Walking Dead, though I haven't read that or Marvel Zombies or the issues he did on Ultimate X-Men. So he's pretty new to me.

I have never seen any of Nelson Blake's art, so here are some of my thoughts on how well he did here. The art suits the story very well, as when he is out doing nothing in the city, the art becomes boring and almost unnoticeable, so you automatically notice the great writing (not that the art is bad at these parts, but that you've already been told its flawless, yet not amazing). When the writing makes you interested in a part, you get excited even when the art feels same old for some reason already, but the art does get a highlight I have been trying to get to, when the main character's going farther in with the mind reading, you get a full page of art divided within this circle around the person being mind read. That page right there needs no word balloons. Their may of been a page before this going in depth with the mind reading, but when I think about it, it was unnecessary.

I'm unsure of whether this series is a mini or not.

  2. Boring, Maryland

    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Boring is an unincorporated community in Baltimore County, Maryland, at the intersection of Old Hanover Road and Pleasant Grove Road, about 5 miles north of Reisterstown. An important stop on the Western Maryland Railroad, it is very small, consisting of about 40 houses, the Boring Methodist Church, Boring Volunteer Fire Company organized in 1907, and the Boring Post Office (ZIP Code: 21020). It is known for its unusual name, which wasn't named for the pace of life, but for postmaster David Boring.

  3. SCanning online comic book discussions. Hate for Jeph Loeb? Silly fanboys, Ultimatum and everything after it aren't in Ultimate Marvel continuity. Their all part of Jeph Loeb's universe (which branches out for each universe created by comics industries), in this universe their is no character development and nothing makes sense, everything is a big confusing event, that kills everyone or makes the most evil person in the world emperor or president.

    Doesn't everybody know that?

  4. and was the one who made the call on Batman's line to warn the League about the bomb.

    Chris

They make it sound like Cheetah did, but then again, you may be right. Luthor's only proof was that she made out with Bats. She didn't entirely act as though she made the call though.

  5. I have named all the Apple computers I have and use to have after Spider-Man characters. My old Ibook G4, doesn't work anymore, it just died one day. I had dropped a couple times a little while before it stopped working. That computer is named Gwen Stacy. My Imac, wasn't really mine, more of my parents computer. It wasn't used for a month, and for some reason just stopped working. Uncle Ben. My newer Imac, is actually barely newer than my last Imac, but it still works okay today. Its name is Aunt May. And finally, my sexy, awesome working, pretty new, Macbook. Mary Jane Watson.

Though I'm not a computer, to finish off this list of main characters in Spider-Man, I am Peter Parker, your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.

My Randomness thread posts of randomness and insanity will be continued.

  6. i don't get why you guys said Batman's plan was to pay Ultra Humanite to annoy Lex in jail. I thought the plan was that Bats would pay him to get him out of the titanium shackle things and then Humanite would slightly help the JL in the last fight, then Humanite would receive that money from Bats and use it all to support the local broadcasting that he liked, while at the same time, annoy Lex.

  7. Tin Case?!!!! No offense WFP hosts, but fuck what Mike and James said about not buying it if you already have the older DVD sets, Its tin, I am buying this!!!!!

Is the BTAS set like that? I only have volume 4 and I hate what its made of, it the corners of box are all beat up from just being on the shelf.

Also, I have held off of buying season/volume big sets for long animated series, because I hope that they will all adapt the idea for complete series sets.

  8. Kind a funny because I'm also still trying to figure out DCBS (Just joined). I created an account and ordered my February pre-orders, but I'm a little unsure of how to order books from December and January. I made an Excel for my December titles I want, then I uploaded it to the sight, but I'm not sure if I did right. Still have to order the January titles I want somehow.

Open your order on the site then go to the preorders section and add the books you want to your order.

Yeah but they don't show January or December books.
