A question for all the teachers

What would you do if that happened in your class?

As a comic geek I would have laughed... later. Much, much later. As someone leading a class, as someone trying to teach ungrateful fucks a thing or two, I would have been pissed at the needless showmanship and distraction.

A stunt like that opens the door for future disruptions; from my experience, college students are always looking for ways to disrupt the class, so the last thing I'd want, as a teacher, is for that door to be opened.

What would I do? I would have "calmly" told the class that if that's how they want to act, if that's how they want to spend class time, they can leave because they obviously don't want to be there.

I'd probably laugh my ass off, and then announce he's getting his class participation marks (if any for the course, most of mine have them) are taking a hit, then resume the lesson.

I teach at a school with high school aged kids who would probably be too afraid of what others thought for that kind of outburst. If it happened? I'd laugh. there are other teachers there to get pissed off.

The thing about colleges is that most of the classes are so big that the teachers don't know the individual students. It wouldn't surprise me if the kid didn't even belong in the class and doesn't have to worry about any reprecussions.

As for what I'd do? I'd laugh my ass off along with the class. And then I'd tell the class, if you do that, you get an automatic zero on your next major test grade.
