Missy
Okay, F. Gary Gray isn't the most famous director, but he has some decent films under his belt. So, as always, first choose your favorite film by the director, then his best. I'm voting Friday as my favorite, and The Negotiator as his best. Missy
Christ. When I started this series of polls I knew I didn't want every single one to feature a high profile director, but I didn't think the first one without a huge name would spiral into madness. Plus, you guys act as if you didn't get a kick out of Friday. Stupid? Yes, but it's funny nonetheless.
Guest
It has nothing to do with him being a huge name or not. It has to do with him being a music video director that thought he could make good movies too. It's just that he makes very subpar ones. Friday started the trend of "let's get as many famous black people in a movie as possible and see what happens" films that are always completely forgetable wastes of time. And it wasn't funny. Missy
It's fine if you don't like his movies, or hate the fact that he used to direct music videos. Just do me a favor: don't spin a thread out of control just because the choices are unfavorable. And this goes for everyone, so this isn't just about you and Des. James D.
I really liked Be Cool.
Dan
Oh, he's made some movies that were fun enough. I liked The Italian Job, though The Negotiator is probably his best. Friday really doesn't do anything for me, though.
slothian
The Negotiator for both. I didn't like The Italian Job.
