While Tetris is very addicting and is widely considered to be the most addicting video game ever, I have to go with Dr. Mario. As each level began anew and the viruses piled hire and hire, I found myself closer and closer to the edge of my seat and couldn't stop playing -- even after losing. I had to try it again. And again. And again.

Dr Mario is a great game: I'd do exactly the same as Yoda did. But Tetris has the edge just because it's so playable. It's also probably the reason that the Gameboy did so well when it first came out, although I expect people to disagree with that...

Tetris, with a disclaimer: I'm talking about the original Tetris, put out be Tengen for the NES. It was 2-player simultaneous, and thus was far superior to Nintendo's version.

However, both versions of Tetris beat Dr. Mario.
