If you like films with water, Thunderball might just be your cup of, uh, water. Ian and Adham reject high-pitched singing for foreign accents, the new "underwater count" and even violence as one co-host hits the other! Not only is this co-host's reaction left in, but so is a plethora of Bond-based analytical fun! [ 1:35:47 || 43.8 MB ]

I should note that we did actually get feedback this month and had we recorded the show this last weekend rather than the previous one, we wouldn't still be moaning about feedback and the lack thereof. But it'll definately go in next month, so if you too feel like adding your two cents worth on Bond or Connery's run thus far, by all means do so!

Random thoughts as I listen.

- I can't tell if that was supposed to be a French or a German accent at the intro.

- I hate Tom Jones.

- "UN-DER WA-TER LAND-ING LIGHTS!" Ha!

- Your mini-rant on the gun wound was great.

- "Ow don't hit me!" Then just right back to what you were doing.

An all around good and amusing episode. Nice work, gentlemen.

If anyone 's interested in a drinking game, take a swig/shot any time I say "basically" in this episode. You'll get quite sozzled!

I'm working on it!

Er, if no-one hears from Des, I think I might have killed him....

Also, thanks to Dan & Dubs! For the record, I think Adham's accent was French.

I'm the one on the left btw.

hahahahahahahaha cool

I know this is far off but I can't wait until you guys get to GoldenEye

That's scheduled for September next year. I kinda wish it was sooner because Brosnan was the Bond I grew up with and Goldeneye is my favourite of his films.

Brosnan

Connery

Moore

Dalton

and in the bowels of hell Daniel Craig

I never wanted Brosnan to leave but I understand he couldn't play the earlier years of bond like craig is

ian I have the ultimate collection boxset it's all the ultimate volume sets as 1 big box plus the 2 disc version of Casino Royale it's such a freakin cool DVD set

If a lady might chime in...

I personally am looking forward to Diamonds Are Forever and For Your Eyes Only. But as far as favorite Bonds go, I rank my list by sex appeal (as a Bond should be ranked):

1. Daniel Craig (Mmmmm...be still my beating heart).

2. Pierce Bronson (He's attractive).

3. Roger Moore (He's suave).

4. Sean Connery (I know I shall be flogged for this, but Connery is just a little too hairy for me).

5. Timothy Dalton (He's nose is too big to be the least bit attractive, he is far from suave, and he's spy antics are so obvious that you would have to be dumb, deaf, and blind not to know he was a 00 operative. Needless to say I hate Dalton!).

Of course this is from the female perspective or at least this female's.

Until next time, gentlemen.

  • 6 months later...

Quick note on the Thunderball theme song.

American music icon Johnny Cash actually threw his hat in the ring for the song, and recorded a version of it (none of the typical country sound that Cash is known for, including the "boom-chicka-boom" guitar riff, its a straight '60s Bond-esque song).

I don't know if Cash ever had it released on any of his records, but there is a Johnny Cash podcast called Johnny Cash Radio, and they played it a while back. I forget which episode number it was off hand.
