Guest DCAUFan1051
here ya go Jack lets fight it out lol From what I've seen the startup time on iMac, MacBook etc is way faster then any PC running Windows. I haven't had a lot of experience with the Apple computers these days but iPhone rocks and the new Nano's are great iTunes admittedly needs work but it's still cooler then Windows Media Player. Guest
Macs are easier for work and music. PCs are better for games, and at actually being compatible with most shit. I don't care much either way, really.
Guest DCAUFan1051
As I've stated in The Apple Inc Thread I love my iPhone and iPod Nano they're fucking great. I haven't had much experience with the apple computers while I'd agree to a point about PC's being better for games I haven't actually seen games run on a Mac. Aaron Robinson
Linux No not really. Probably Microsoft, since I don't think I've ever even used an apple product (although I think I might have touched a friend’s iPod once).

slothian
PC partisanship eh? As has been mentioned before, I love my iPod and iTunes is perfect for that MP3 player. That said, I like Windows Media Player better for simply playing music off my computer (as it will play specific albums or genres) and I can find my way around a PC easier than I can with a Mac. Even with my new computer coming with Vista, I've pretty much worked that out by now. I think I'll vote for both, as that seems to be the way the poll's been set up! I know your gonna say more jack and I agree with you and everyone that has said that PC's are better for games but in my opinion and as I've stated before my PC is a heeping pile of dogshit when I try to play movies/TV Shows in iTunes on it. So I am not gonna switch to Apple I'm going to ADD a MacBook Pro to go along with my PC. I want it for photo projects I've been wanting to do and of course music/movies and TV Shows

Dread
Anyway I hate macs as they are hard to use if your a total idiot. That's where you're wrong. My father-in-law bought computers to keep his mother and mother-in-law in touch with the whole family as they lived far away. These are women who have never turned a computer on before and within a week they were using it like they were computer literate. Macs are by far easier to learn on. They are user friendly, you just have to get over the fact that you've been brainwashed into complication with a PC first.

I love the looks of the new iMac and the Macbooks they are very streamline and clean and crisp type of look to them. I can't wait to get a MacBook Pro!!!! They look very easy to use as Des said but as he also said the hard part is getting used 2 the controls as they are very different from windows. JackFetch
Apple has always been a distant number 2 because of their decision to not use universal standards like the pc does. Yes, my main problem with them is hardware. They sell overpriced pieces of art, not computers. I use Windows because I know all the software I use runs on it. If I had a Mac I wouldn't be able to use hardly any open source software, premier games, or most software sold. That's just pathetic. Apple fans now use the argument of "you can now run Windows on Macs so it doesn't matter now". Yes it does. You still have to run Windows to do all the stuff that your precious Mac OS can't. Plus you are giving Microsoft more money buy buying Windows to duel boot, and that doesn't help your cause any. Apple always starts off good with products, but someone comes out with something that sells better. Every school and home had an Apple II when I was a kid. The PC blew them almost out of business. The Newton was a failure when the Palm Pilot wasn't. In fact the only thing they have stayed number one at is the iPod. I won't lie, it's a great product. the problem I do have with it is why do they feel the need to redo the design so often? Why keep fixing it if it isn't broken? I do think iTunes is crap though, from my experience. There are 10 different programs that does what iTunes does, except transfer stuff to your iPod which is all it's needed for. I don't like being forced to use a program I don't like. The iPhone is not the huge success it could have been. They have less than 1 percent of the market. The exclusive deal with AT&T kept a lot of people from getting it, including me. I've actually only seen one person in the wild using one. I walked into an AT&T store the other day and asked about it, and they said they don't sell it at that store. Why not make it available at every store? Why do I keep hearing that to get the best use of the phone, you have to unlock it? The way people want to use it, Apple says no. The Android is going to be the real deal with regards to it being truly open. I can put any program I want on there, regardless of it being in the app store or not. Oh, and there will be lots of different phones running Android so I can pick the one I want not the only one available. Apple doesn't give you any real choices. If I want a new pc, I have dozens of companies and hundreds of models to choose from. How many Mac models are there right now? I just checked, three. The Mac Pro, Mac Mini, and iMac. I bought my laptop for 500.00 new, and can do anything I want on it including play games. The cheapest MacBook is a grand. Apple is pushing around the music industry with iTunes. They recently threatened to stop selling songs when the music industry wanted to up the royalties gained from songs. The music industry had no choice but to back off because Apple sells more songs then everyone but WalMart. I don't like a company having that much power and is willing to throw it around. Ssshhh the PC's will hear you and come and get you and make you sit through the specialist. I just have got so used to a PC and the fact that mac costs a shitload of money and I'm incredibly cheap. Guest DCAUFan1051
Jack.... while I see your point and agree to an extent Wal-Fart does not sell more music then iTunes that's a load of shit man. For the simple fact of the matter is that Wal-Fart edits their CD's that's total fucking bullshit. iTunes on the other hand offers Explicit and Clean Versions of most of their music. Wal-Mart is a fucking asshole of a conglomorate company that fucks it's employees over on a daily basis. I will also agree that at times iTunes can suck as far as loading and downloading content and all that hell look at my vent thread posts from this week. As far as redesigning the ipod first of that "fat" nano sucked it looked like a Nutrigran Bar for christsakes the NEW thinner ones are awesome I love it.... mind you I don't use it out and about I mainly use it with my Bose SoundDock: as far as your iPhone comments jack well I wanted something that had it all music movies everything I didn't want to have a cell phone plus an iPod and carry around a bunch of other shiyt as well. I had a cell phone from samsung it took me three hours to get music on the fucking thing I had to burn a CD from iTunes rerip the CD into Windows Media Player then sync the phone. THAT'S WAYYYYY TO MUCH FUCKING WORK!!! With iPhone while I agree there are disadvantages at least I can put it in the dock and sync everything at once. So while there are probably other products out there that work with other media players then iTunes that is what I will always use. But to each their own

Doesn't make the "it's pretty, look" argument any better. All the things Microsoft haters used to say about Microsoft can now be applied to Apple. I don't like Vista at all ir's toooo confusing I have XP Pro and it's fine for what I use it for. that's my 2 cents and it's funny apple is winning the poll.
